I just returned from my third trip to St. John, and my third time staying at Samuel Cottages, and there is a reason I continue to stay here. The location is fantastic: you can very easily walk to dinner/drinks/shopping - it's probably a five minute walk to the ferry dock from the cottage (maybe closer to 10 going back up...

The cottages are not modern or fancy but comfortable and have all the amenities you could want. Kitchen, large bedroom, clean bathroom. Thoughtful amenities included guide books and maps. The useful amenities included, blender, iron and ironing board and fresh bathroom and beach towels every 4 days. Amenities include satellite TV but we never turned it on because we spent...

I am always looking for a unique venue for our accommodations when we travel. I like a clean, safe property at a good price and boy did I find it with Samuel Cottages. The cottage was sizable and comfortable with all the amenities you need; a fully equipped kitchen, sitting area with a nice flat screen TV, a good hot...

My husband and I stayed at Samuel Cottages for over a week. It was our first visit to St. John. We highly recommend staying at one of these cottages. They are close to the downtown area of Cruz Bay, but far enough away so that you can see the stars and avoid much of the noise. Our cottage was very...

We just returned from a great one week Christmas vacation on St. Johns, Virgin Islands and provide an excellent review of Samuel Cottages. We rented two of the cottages and stayed comfortably there without a car for the week. The cottages are simple, very clean, and fully equipped with any possible needs for cooking, resting, and great breakfasts on the...

I have stayed at Samuel Cottages twice, once for a girls trip and once with my husband. Patrice is amazing to work with. The cottages have everything you need for the perfect island getaway. It's not a luxury resort, but that's not the intention. If you want to cook for yourself, have a little more space to move around, and...

The Samuel Cottages were booked, but the owner also had a 2 bedroom apartment available. It was closer to town and no big hill to climb. There was a small porch with table, chairs, & a clothes lines. There is a flat screen TV (didn't use), and A/C in one bedroom & living room (didn't use). Ceiling fans in rooms,...

This place is adorable. We stayed 6 days and loved it. It is with in walking distance of downtown and the ferry. It is up a hill so going down is easy but the hike up can be hot but is achievable. The owner is SO sweet and gave us fresh towels in the middle of the week, checked on...

We stayed in cottage number 3, the furthest cottage from the road and closest to the owner's house just down the hill a little. The cottage was all we needed, affordable, in a good location (a 2 min drive to the center of town) and the room was spacious. The bed could have been a little more comfortable and the...

We realize that letting the morning light in is probably a cultural difference and so we have chosen to give our guests a choice in 2016 by adding a second curtain to the windows in the bed room. That way one can sleep-in or wake up with the sunlight. Thank you for alerting us to your preference.

A great low key, affordable place to stay. Can you stay anywhere cheaper without camping? After a long day we enjoyed resting on the patio taking in the view and feeding bananaquits. I just wish we brought a hummingbird feeder too. It’s within walking distance to Dolphin market which has a lesser selection than Starfish market but similarly priced. The...
