The Castle is a timeshare resort, but will have rooms to rent for non-owners. There are four distinct places: Villas I, Hilltop Villas, Villas III, and Pirates Pension. PP is the newest of the four, and is located down the hill from the other three. Other than the long walk up to the pool level and lobby area, PP has...

This is a nice place to stay for the price. We had a beautiful view of St. Thomas! The guys at the pool bar were very nice and they had a pretty good breakfast! We had dinner twice at the other bar by the pool. The first time the food was great! The second time was horrible and we ordered...

Our room was updated and had a beatiful view of the harbor. We brought two children so walking down the mountain was not an option. Honestly the walk looked very dangerous on a narrow road but we saw a few people doing it. Getting a car as we did is recomended but they drive on the opposite side of the...

I visit St thomas quite regularly for work, but this time the prices of the hotels were extremely expensive. For some reason this hotel was very cheap ($130/night) so I had to take the chance. For example, the Marriott was $400 for the same dates. I had stayed at the Bluebeard Castle in the past but didn't really like it,...

I just stayed at Bluebeard's Castle checking in on Jan 1 and checking out on Jan 3, just prior to a bareboat charter in the BVI. I worked perfectly for what we needed, there were a total of 6 guys, in 3 rooms, all of which were satisfactory. There a few things that you need to keep in mind with...

The best thing about this property in the location. You are central to Frenchtown and the harbor. Ferries, restaurants, and attractions are all within a reasonable walking distance. The property is dated, but still a reasonable value for the price. Be aware you need to request the fold-out couch in the standard room, if you want one.

My husband and I stayed at this resort, if you want to call it that. It is very run down, terrible customer service and way over priced. We waited an hour after check in time to get into our room and when we finally got the keys, the keys did not work. We then had to wait another forty minutes...

the room was adequate, the restaurants were good except one, the Banana Tree where they served raw or undercooked chicken. I spoke to our server Layman about it and he checked with the chef who said that is acceptable to have it close to the bone....HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU SEEN UNDERCOOKED CHICKEN AND THOUGHT IT WAS OKAY?

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bluebeard's Castle is an historic property dating back to the 1600's. The resort occupies an entire hilltop with spectacular views overlooking the harbor and town of Charlotte Amalie. Its signature red rooftops are among the first sights for arriving cruise passengers. The resort includes a centuries-old fortress bearing the name "Bluebeard," after the infamous pirate, and check-in takes place in the former residence of the Danish governor of the island. This tropical paradise is the perfect place for a private getaway as it is set on a secluded hilltop and overlooks the harbor of St. Thomas. Bluebeard's Castle is centrally located in the most desirable part of the island with world class shopping minutes away. With only a short drive from some of the most popular beaches in the Caribbean where you can enjoy boating, scuba diving, snorkeling and windsurfing. The island itself offers a wonderful assortment of duty-free shopping, world-class restaurants (including the top-rated ROOM WITH A VIEW on location!), hot night spots, and a variety of local flavor to satisfy every taste. This resort features history, breathtaking views, and easy access to town. Beaches are literally minutes away so you can visit them all including easy ferry rides to St. John and the British Virgin Islands (Tortola and Virgin Gorda). You will see why owners at the resort are passionate about their units. It is this passion that will once again be the reason that Bluebeard's Castle will become a sought after destination resort. Many lucky RCI members will take advantage of this now! The resort is in the midst of a historic multi-million dollar remodel that will change all that you have heard. The proof is found in our regular maintenance reports as well as our news and picture sections. Also, schedules of on-resort dining are now posted in these reports.
