We stayed at a great condo next to 2 resorts. The advantage of this was having an entire, large 2 bedroom condo that was fully equiped while still being next door to great restaurants. And, given that we could split the cost with another couple, it was only about half the price! This place is newly renovated, in perfect condition and directly on the beach. And, it had a huge freshwater pool. We even snorkled on the reef you could easily swim to!...snorkeled everyday!!! There is also great snorkeling and diving on St. Croix. It is a relaxed island compared to St. Thomas (you can take a day trip to other islands by ferry or sea plane). It has many beaches to explore, places to hike and lots of water sports. You can tour an outdoor botanical garden, rain forest and a rum factory. Being the largest Virgin Island, it has a lot to offer. Two towns to explore, lots of great restaurants and even a casino. The biggest decision everyday was whether to tour the island or just lay by the ocean.

We stayed for a few days at Pelican Cove Condos in early February. It is a very nice upscale condo complex. We travelled around to most of the other parts of the island and scouted for future stays so we have a good idea about the other choices. The best aspects about Pelican Cove are the following:
**It is very convenient to most everything as it is mid island- the furthest destination in 30 minutes away in either direction. Groceries, great restaurants, shopping are all with a 5-10 minute drive.
**There are two great restaurants and a bar within a five minute walk at the adjacent Hibiscus and Palms @ Pelican Cove resorts.
**The grounds are among the nicest we saw with extensive, well-maintained tropical foliage and a palm- fringed beach.
**The pool is very large and nicely landscaped.
**The pool and beach were never crowded.
**The units we saw were well kept and roomy. All have a view of the Caribbean from the patio.
**The neighborhood nearby was moderate to middle income - note that a number of condos complexes a little closer to Christiansted are across from public housing projects which some might not be comfotable with.
All in all, it was a very nice place if you are looking for a convenient, quiet oceanfront experience without the activities and feel of a hotel.
Note the the beach directly in front of the complex is very nice sand- perfect for strolling or sunning; however as with most beaches on the north shore, the water access is limited due to coral in the water. However, a short walk on the beach - 3-4 minutes- takes you over to the Palms and there is a lovely sandy bottom beach access into the water for swimming and snorkling.
St. Croix is wonderful- friendly people, polite drivers (whcih helps since they drive on the left), lots of history, varied topograghy from mountain rainforest to arid rolling hills. We felt very comfortable driving around just about anywhere.
We recommend both the island and Pelican Cove heartily!

We recently got married in St Croix VI and it was spectacular! We were searching to rent/buy a condo and went all over the island. We stayed @ Pelican Cove. If your looking for privacy, and a serene setting, folks Pelican Cove is the place! The view of the ocean was beautiful, immpeccable grounds, and great ocean views. I have attached pictures for your viewing. If anyone would like addtional information regarding this Condo resort, please feel free to email me as we were so impressed we bought a condo which has direct ocean view. Feel free to email me for additional information or renting our condo. Thank you
Have a great day!

Horrible! Do not go to this place we did not have running water for a whole entire day. They still was able to prepare food how? We left immediately because they were saying or was the water company but I personally Alex and that was not true. The hotel rooms had very bad leaks as well as nails, boards, and all type of trash around your rooms. Rooms are not secured!!! Horrible

Such a beautiful view of the ocean... I could just stay in bed all day with the drapes pulled wide open and view the palm trees swaying in the breeze, listening to the non-stopping rush of the ocean --- such a relaxing atmosphere, and when it rained.. such a wonderful patio to sit, relax, read and watch. All the amenities you need, snorkling gear, beach towels, DVD's, books, think all i really needed to bring was a hair dryer and bathing suits... although i would have taken more small staples, crackers, wine, tea bags, coffee... stores are a bit pricey, but still worth it to cook in your room as restaurants are a bit pricey also, but well worth it (Breezes rum fired lobster is the BEST) Hotel within walking distance with the nicest bartenders and great food. Stores have "convenient hours" so don't be surprised if you getsomewhere and they're closed due to the owner having something else to do for the day.. most close early around 4 or 5 pm. The island is so beautful, surprised to see desert along with the plush green rolling hills. A must to do while there is a kyak and snorkling adventure (I used Anchor Dive for kyaking and Blackbeards for snorkling out to Buck Island *** if you've never done this before, be sure to use a waist-float and you'll have a wonderful time*** ) And, there is a Casino - beautiful, but doesn't open until noon to 4am... Go again YOU BET!!... had an invitation to come back and stay with one of the locals and will definitely do so in the next year. Happy driving on the LEFT!!!

We stayed in a unit listed on VRBO. The grounds at this condo complex are beautiful, the pool was very clean and the beach is only a few steps away. This is a gated community with plenty of parking and our ground floor condo had pretty much everything we needed. The only draw backs were that the condo we rented had furnishings and finishes were dated and there wasn't a barbeque. The beach directly in front of the condos is rocky but you walk to the beach next door at the Palms which is sandy and good for snorkelling.

Had a wonderful stay at Pelican’s Paradise in July. The condo is very spacious and equipped with everything we needed. Very comfy. The kitchen is new with lots of dishes, pots and silverware and all the basic appliances. Even the cupboard was well stocked with spices from previous guests. We made chocolate chip cookies one night and fresh mango smoothies every night. Lucky for us I think July must be peak mango season with locals selling fresh mangoes along the road side. The breakfast bar was great for a quick snack but we liked eating breakfast, lunch and dinner out on the outdoor gallery when we weren’t out on the town. The view from the kitchen, large living room and gallery look out over the tropical grounds and on to the beach and ocean. We used the gas grill out on the gallery to grill up some steaks and burgers and hot dogs several times.
The condo is an end unit with lots of windows to catch all the ocean breezes, we only ran the AC occasionally. When the AC was on we couldn’t even hear it running inside or outside and plenty of cold air. Very quiet and no walk-by traffic in front of the condo. This condo is also two-story with the kitchen, living room and large dining room on the lower floor and bedrooms on the top floor. There is also a powder room downstairs along with nice full sized washer and dryer in the condo made quick work of our laundry. Everything in the condo was very clean and fresh and new looking.
The master bedroom is huge and has its own private gallery through these large glass sliding doors which also overlooks the palm trees and looks out to the beach and ocean. We loved waking up every morning and looking out at the ocean. And the private master bath is like a spa with a whirlpool tub, large shower big enough for dancing in, and lots of big fluffy towels. We were surprised to have his and hers walk-in closets, the first time we’ve had that in a condo.
There was a notebook full of helpful information on the condo and the island and restaurants in the living room. We used the snorkel gear, beach chairs, beach towels and cooler in the condo several days to go explore different beaches on the island. One night we went to jump-up in downtown Christiansted and had great street vendor food. We also liked the Mango Melee a week later with more street vendor food.
The condo is centrally located on the North side of the island, very quiet setting but only 5 minutes from down town Christiansted, close to grocery stores, and easy to get to anywhere else. There’s a short drive through a residential neighborhood to the entrance that is shared between the Palms hotel and the Pelican Cove Condos. The condo grounds are landscaped with lush tropical trees and plants and the buildings are classic Caribbean. Unlike many other condos we’ve stayed at Pelican Cove Condos have a very resort like feel from the moment we drove in. The condos are right on the Pelican Cove white sand palm tree lined beach. The beach in front of the condos is huge and lounge chairs are provided at the beach. The pool is huge as well and no chlorine or salt with lap lanes and a waterfall and a nice shaded cabana for lunch (bring your own though). There is also a large hot tub at the pool.
The adjacent Palms hotel a short stroll away has a nice restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has entertainment on Sundays and Monday nights. The coral shelf just off the beach at the condos makes swimming there not possible. But that’s no problem as a little further walk down the beach in front of the hotel restaurant is fine for swimming and snorkeling.
We are already planning our next trip to St Croix and Pelican’s Paradise and it can’t come soon enough.

Pelican Cove Condos are right on the great white sand palm tree lined Pelican Cove beach. All beaches on St Croix are public but the condo beach extends much further into the condo private property. Beach lounge chairs are provided for condo owners and guests. The condo grounds are meticulously landscaped with lush tropical Caribbean flavor and various blooms throughout the year. The building architecture is classic Caribbean as well. These attributes make Pelican Cove Condos one of the few that have a very resort like feel apparent from the moment one drives into the property compared to others that are more apartment like. Access to the condo is restricted by an attractive gate at entrance to the grounds which does not detract from the overall appearance.
There are four similar but not identical buildings on the property each with three main floors and each with penthouse units that have their own private upper floor with inside walk-up. All units are 2 or 3 bedroom. Most units are flats, the 2 and 3 bedroom penthouse units are on two floors. All units have large private galleries facing the ocean with views through the grounds to the ocean. Each unit is privately owned and managed. Some are in original condition while others have been completely upgraded and renovated and still others are in between.
The pool is one of the largest on the island and has lap lanes and a waterfall feature. There is also a large hot tub next to the pool. Also next to the pool as a shaded cabana building with tables and chairs surrounded by more of the lush landscaping.
The adjacent Palms hotel has a nice restaurant serving meals throughout the day with entertainment on Sundays and some evenings and is a short convenient stroll away. The coral shelf just off the beach adjacent the condos makes swimming there no possible but the beach areas in front of the restaurant is fine for swimming and snorkeling.
Pelican Cove Condos is centrally located on the island, very quiet setting but only 5 minutes from down town Christiansted, close to grocery stores, and easy to get to anywhere else from there.

We stayed at St. Croix Splendor in the American building. It is a third floor unit with gorgeous ocean views. Splendor just does not seem to be sufficient to describe the best vacation accommodations we have ever experienced. Pelican Cove Condos is a wonderful property, but St. Croix Splendor must be one of the very best units. The décor is impeccable and it is spotless. Brand new stainless steel Whirlpool appliances make staying in for dinner an enjoyable experience instead of a chore. So much was available in the kitchen; like spices, condiments and coffee filters. Many items that you usually need to go out and purchase full size and then throw away, are already there. Everything you could possibly need is here. I could have packed so much less, had I know there were coolers, beach towels, snorkel gear, etc. The view is awesome from the third floor and is well worth the climb. A great way to work off dinner or lunch at the Palms next door.
The large saline pool was usually completely ours, shared only with the three iguanas and hummingbirds. The grounds are beautifully kept, even during a drought and the grounds staff is very friendly and helpful.
The management of Kent and Cristina are what truly made this a great vacation. We had booked at Colony Cove and due to seaweed, lack of appropriate air conditioning, etc. our first trip to St. Croix did not start well. They went above and beyond to find an available unit and we will never vacation in St. Croix unless “St. Croix Splendor” is available. Kent not only taught us so much about the island and Pelican Cove Condos, but even printed our boarding passes. Cristina was always available by e-mail or phone to help with the move from Colony Cove to Pelican Cove Condos. This type of service is very rare these days.
I could go on and on about the positives, but I have to mention the one negative - we had to go home :( , but, “We’ll Be Back”!!!
Thanks again Kent and Cristina! You are the best!

We rented unit 103 at Pelican Cove through VRBO for a few weeks to spend some time with our son who lives on the island. It could have been my 2nd home. The condo was so cozy, well equipped with everything you need. Beach towels, snorkel equipment, floats, water shoes. Well stocked kitchen. They really did pay attention to little details for the renter. You should get a car to explore the island, so much to see, but the Palms does have great restaurant and bar, (Rico at the bar is the best). Happy hour specials and $2.00 Taco Night. The beach in front of the restaurant is very nice, has "great snorkeling". Ask for Mitch at the Palms desk, he takes out snorkelers to see the best spots. Definitely try the night trip with him. The condo has a large pool with waterfall that was a very nice quiet spot to relax. We have stayed at a couple other places down there, which were all nice hotels, but we will come back to Pelican Cove again. Great unit, but all around nice complex.
