Hotel was in a perfect location although finding nearby parking was a nightmare (not exclusive to this hotel). Staff was friendly, pool was beautiful, and the food connected to and nearby was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again.

Last week I travelled to St. Croix for a Conference. I stay at King Christian Hotel. The young lady, Lluvia was super helpful and courteous. She offered me lemon infused water but I did not want to make a spill as I had bags…she graciously offered me bottled water.
Check in was a breeze. She then escorted me to the room which was above what I expected. The room was very clean and comfy.
The smell of the shower Gel was divine. I wish there was a lotion from the same company. I also wish there was a coffee maker in the room. Albeit, the coffee I had in the restaurant was delicious. There was a large offering of coffees and pastries.
I will be back!!!

Nicely renovated. Room was small-ish and overall pretty basic (shampoo, body wash, conditioner, hairdryer, no in room coffee maker), but the balcony was a great extension of the room. No immediate beach access but the short, free ferry ride across to the Hotel on the Cay Beach is worth a trip (Beach, beach bar and good snorkeling). Housekeeping staff was warm and friendly, front desk was always attended. Location can't be beat for easy access to Carribean Sea Adventures, multiple diving shops, shopping and many food options on the Boardwalk. We rented a car and were able to find free parking nearby everyday- although occasionally this required a little more patience and searching.

We arrived for our one night stay at 2:53PM. When I walked in, said “hello how are you” and asked if she could see if our rooms were ready, I was not greeted with a smile, a welcome or a “hi how can I help you”. Instead, the greeting was “do you need something?” When I asked if we could check in, I was told immediately “No wait outside and come back at 3” (less than 10 minutes). 10 minutes later, I returned and one room was ready, one was not… couldn’t she have mentioned this 10 minutes before? Anyway, the service didn’t get better from there… very rude front desk. I’m not sure if she was just having a bad day or what but my group was treated very poorly and we’re not sure why.
Later we asked about late checkout and were told that a late checkout costs a full night stay $350 (online it says $100). Another couple we were traveling with received a late checkout for free so we ended up hanging/showering in their room the next day since we had a later flight.
Two stars for the beautiful hotel and nice location, but very poor customer service.

I recommend this hotel for couples or friends in their 20s-40s looking for a fun, trendy. and well located hotel with restaurants and bars on the property.
We LOVED our time at King Christian Hotel! We moved here from Hotel Caravelle which had a very impersonal and run down vibe and no pool due to renovations and we were THRILLED with our choice to change hotels! The staff is super friendly, the restaurant/bar/cafe/ice cream place on the property are phenomenal — and the newly renovated pool area was the perfect oasis after a morning of adventure.
The location right on the water is very convenient, and the views from our room (301) were amazing — the rooms are basic and the balconies could do with an upgrade to match the aesthetic of the pool area, but it looks like they’re still doing some upgrades — which weren’t disruptive to our trip.
They provided first-class shampoo/conditioner/body wash but no hairdryer.
The only negative was the lack of flexibility to request a late check out — even though the hotel wasn’t fully booked.

Good day and thank you for choosing the King Christian Hotel while you visited St. Croix. We are happy that you enjoyed our accommodations in our newly renovated rooms. We are in the final stages of renovations and are very excited to offer our guest the new and final product. I have taken note of the hair dryer not being in the rooms and will follow up to make sure we have available to offer our guest. Again thank you for your valuable feedback and we look forward to serving you in the near future.

We were needing a place to stay in downtown Christiansted for one night and this place offered a very affordable rate. The rooms were a little 1990s dated but it looked like they were in the midst of some overall renovations on the property. The pool area was very nice. The real asset of this hotel is it's location right along the Christiansted waterfront in the heart of the downtown area, footsteps from many shops, restaurants, and historical sites. Considering the great location, the price was great value for money.
If you have a car, there is free street parking in the neighborhood around the hotel. However, there is no on-site parking. It took us a little while to find a parking space for our rental car on one of the side streets a few minutes' walk from the hotel.
This hotel has lovely views of the harbor. There is no beach on the Christiansted waterfront but the hotel is right next to the water taxi service that will take you a few minutes across the harbor to the nice beach on Protestant Cay.

We stayed a week at King Christian and it was truly an amazing experience. The attention to detail, level of service from the staff and quality of food & drinks made our stay perfect. Being waterfront on the Bay, combined with the amenities the hotel offers, it’s tough to beat in Christiansted. All the rooms wrap around a huge patio with poolside loungers and umbrellas, dining tables, tropical plants and cacti. Just outside the gates they have the best coffee (Virgin Island Coffee Roasters), homemade ice cream at Cream, delicious breakfast at Caroline’s Breakfast, and killer cocktails at Breakers Roar Tiki Bar. Not to mention a dive shop and island tours & charter services right next door on the boardwalk. They even have the ferry stop for Protestant Cay right out front on the dock. All the great restaurants, bars, and shops in town are within a 10 minute walk, and driving around the island from here is easy and convenient. Go here, highly recommend!

The room we stayed in was cute and clean. The water pressure was terrible, but I was able to shower well enough. Our room faced the street, which was very loud. We were woken up in the morning by many trucks beeping as they backed up; or a car with loud music blaring; or one of the many free range roosters wandering about. The property is undergoing minor construction but it’s not overly inconvenient. There is no elevator so if you have luggage and are staying on the second or third floor, take advantage of the bellman. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The pool area is not always a nice, quiet place to relax. Between the construction workers walking through and the restaurant workers who work right by the pool, taking a nap poolside was out of the question.
The location is right on the boardwalk, with many restaurants around to choose from. They have no parking, so you are on your own to find a spot.
Overall, it was a nice stay. If you are more of a partier, you will like the location. If you are looking for a more quiet, low-key, romantic couples vacay, this is not the spot for you.

I rented a room here in February of 2021. It was last minute because I needed to stay closer to the airport. I thought the hotel looked good for the price and the photos appeared decent online.
When I checked-in...I was beyond shocked. The beds/box springs were filthy. The fridge was dirty and the room itself was old and smelled like mildew. I knew from the moment I walked into the room, I would not be able to stay there. I began to take photographs of the filth and as I walked into the bathroom, I observed roaches near the toilet and in the bath tub. I immediately ran to the front desk. The front desk staff were very understanding and she ADMITTED to me that they recently had 3 other families check out early the week prior because they had reported roaches in the other rooms. I was so disgusted!! Why would you continue to rent rooms to people if you have not handled your roach problem??? I was upset and she refunded my money.
I hesitated writing this review because I felt bad. I was begged to not post a review but I feel it’s the right thing to do because no one should waste money in staying in a place like that and risk bringing roaches home. I had to wait until my money was refunded before I could write this truthful review. DO NOT STAY HERE until they can verify that they handled their roach problem. Also, the photographs are misleading and the room looked worse in person.

Good day and thank you for your response. It is unfortunate that you stayed in the old King Christian hotel when the rooms where not renovated. Since your last visit we have renovated 21 of the 45 rooms with modern furnishing and amenities. The balance of the rooms are slated to be finished by February 2022. We hope when your visit brings you back to St. Croix we have the opportunity to serve you in our newly renovated hotel rooms. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

The location is perfect to be by the pier, ferry over to Cays, to walk to local shops and restaurants. My hotel room was like most island stays, modest, extremely clean and quiet. Every single person I came in contact with was friendly and willing to help and/or offer suggestions to meet your needs. It was well worth my stay.
Note: They are going through renovations and I’m sure it will be even better!
