If you want a real taste of the Caribbean, this is for you. It's not a fancy resort with tennis courts and open air restaurants but a nice family place with cottages divided into studio rooms. I went in September 2018 and the restaurant and...More
We booked our cottage after seeing the property last time we were in St Croix. The property is under new management and they are updating. We sat on our porch, on the beach, at the bar and by the pool everyday. The views are wonderful...More
Fifth stay since '06, second in two years. LOVE this place. Cheney is perfect for explorers and adventurers. Not so great if you want an all-inclusive sandals-style-stay-in type luxury resort. Rental car is a must. The little kitchens are ideal for stretching your meal budget...More

It's not an all-inclusive. As far as I know St Croix has only one or maybe two all-inclusive resorts. Cheney is a great base of operations if you like to explore, but if you plan to stay in one place all week you might get bored. I only ate one snack from the restaurant so I didn't rate it. The owner's grandson is running the bar and his buddy is running the kitchen, so it's a small operation, but super friendly. The quesadillas we had were good, and what I saw on other's plates looked good. They have a little bit of everything on the menu $10-$20, omelettes, pancakes, sandwiches, burgers, and a couple of dinners. So it, too, is a bit limited for a full week, so you're better off exploring the island by rental car and sampling some of the many great options. Click on my profile for a good range. Have fun!
