Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort & Casino offers a vibrant atmosphere that's been a hit with guests, thanks to nightly DJ sessions and engaging shows like fire dancers. The all-inclusive amenities are a hit, although some guests have mentioned they could benefit from extended service hours and better maintenance. While the ocean views from the rooms are often a highlight, a few travelers have reported downsides such as maintenance needs and noise disturbances. The hotel's location is appreciated for its weather and shuttle service, yet its remoteness and seaweed issues have been drawbacks for some. The service staff receives accolades for their friendliness and attentiveness despite occasional slow service due to understaffing. Opinions on value and cleanliness are mixed, with some guests citing the resort as affordable, while others point out additional costs and cleanliness inconsistencies.

The resort was very quiet, simple, and low key. I recommend downloading their app and doing express check in.

The breakfast buffet is good with all the expected food choices, some days there were different options. Omelet station is always an excellent choice!

The best food/drink option during the day is the Oceans Bar & Cafe. This is an outdoor kitchen surrounded by a full bar, even with frozen drinks. The food menu is nice and simple with really good choices. The kitchen has a fryer, griddle, and a brick pizza oven! Which means the food is made right there in front of you, and comes to you hot and fresh! By the end of the week, I had and enjoyed everything on the menu. Ask about the daily specials, sometimes they are posted, sometimes not.

The dinner buffet is good, better than cafeteria, not quite "Vegas Quality", but good and different choices each night. The Tuscany was a very nice dining experience and the food was really good, and service was great.

I did call and email before we arrived because I had some questions, but no one answered the phone or replied to my email.

There is no Uber or Lyft on the island, and no airport shuttle. So unless you're renting a car, the best transportation to/from airport and resort is by taxi. Be ready for a long and winding two lane road and about 30 minutes. The taxis only take cash, and the standard rate is $25 per person. When you get to the resort, just go to front desk and reserve your pickup time for taxi ride back to airport.

Our room was cleaned every day, but they didn't automatically replenish the coffee pods, water, or toilet paper, so we asked for those at the front desk.

All in all we enjoyed our vacation here, as it was very quiet and low key, just what we wanted. We enjoyed the food and drinks, and we always love to do all-inclusive resorts.

I would recommend this resort, and we would go back again.

Thank you so much for your review, We truly appreciate your feedback and will utilize it to improve the experiences we offer at the resort. I am sorry about the communication issues you experience. We have faced some technical challenges with our phone and email systems, which we are close to resolving. Unfortunately rideshare is illegal in the USVI, so we highly recommend renting a car to explore the beautiful island! Otherwise you can book at taxi in advance at the front desk! Thank you for the feedback on Housekeeping we will be checking into that to ensure that in room amenities are being replenished. We look forward to seeing you again!

Just returned from a four day three night trip with seven other ladies. We were celebrating the anniversary of an organization we are in. I would like to start this out by saying this is not a Sandals resort. This is a local resort with local flavor that brings a special touch. The property is older and possibly could use some outside renovations. But the open lobby area where you check in is beautiful with several ocean colored waiting areas, lounging areas, and a beautiful central bar. It is open air, which is part of the Island flavor. The staff was always attentive, and you can tell different staff members play many different roles. Our rooms were ready, and, despite the older outside appearance, once you open the door, the rooms were extremely nice, very modern, had a piping, hot shower, and lots of storage space. There is a breakfast buffet in the morning, which has a variety of American foods. Remember, this is not Jamaica, you are still in the United States. The pool area was nice and the pool bar and food was fine. The staff was always willing to help, and the driver hilarious. The biggest downturn was not at the hotel’s fault, and that is the seaweed. Because of the location on the island, this is the t time of year that seaweed accumulates on the beach. There is nothing the hotel can do about this. They have a machine that is driven to clean it, but they really can’t keep up. However, they did have a free shuttle to a different beach in a different location that was not packed with seaweed. On our first night, they had karaoke, which was fun. On the second night, they had fire dancers, which was fun. On the third nights, they had stilt dancers, which was extremely fun. We had reservations at the Italian restaurant, which was our formal welcome dinner to commemorate our occasion. The staff manager went above and beyond to make sure that we were all seated together and had something special to make our night more memorable and we appreciated it. Overall, everyone had an amazing time. Biggest pros, friendly staff, hot showers, fun, drinks, great cookies, great mimosas , atmosphere. Cons, older property, seaweed, and smell of the seaweed, further location from the rest of the island life. I am sure eventually there will be renovations to make the property more modern. But where it counts, like the rooms, the mark was hit. I would like to say that I would stay here again, but it definitely would be earlier in the year when seaweed is not a big deal. It is definitely the kind of property where you can lounge and spend more of your time there then just explore in the evening. Thanks to the staff and my travel mates for a great trip.

Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that you and your group had an enjoyable stay with us while celebrating such a special occasion. We appreciate your understanding of our unique, local charm and the open-air ambiance of our resort. It’s wonderful to know that our attentive staff, beautiful lobby, and modern rooms added to your positive experience. We're glad you enjoyed the breakfast buffet, pool area, and the variety of entertainment we provided each night. We acknowledge your comments about the property’s exterior and the seaweed. While the seaweed is indeed a natural occurrence that we continuously work to manage, we are pleased that you found our shuttle service to a different beach helpful. Thank you for highlighting our friendly staff, hot showers, fun atmosphere, and delicious food and drinks. Your kind words about our staff manager’s efforts to make your formal dinner memorable are greatly appreciated. We are committed to ongoing improvements and hope to welcome you back again, perhaps at a time when the seaweed is less prevalent, for another enjoyable stay. Best regards,

The resort is nice with beautiful ocean views from every hotel room and a great pool right by the ocean with a bar & grill poolside. The staff was phenomenal - especially the wait staff (Hailey, Cole, Orion in particular provided warm & friendly service), the poolside bartenders & cooks (Scott & Abena were the best), the front desk staff (shout out to Jay) and the many people who cleaned our room and the hotel spotlessly. And the food is excellent!!

Wish I could give a 4 or 5 star review but the following issues would need to be addressed:
They need a backup pump for the water system (Raul did the very best he could with the running water issue for a 30 hour period and reimbursed us for two nights, but seems like having backup equipment may have avoided the problem). Thankfully, they’re on a generator, so the rotating power outages on St. Croix did not affect us at all!
The tractor that clears the seaweed off the beach apparently broke down, so it was only completely cleared on one day the whole week.
Although the hotel has been beautifully renovated since the devastating Hurricane Maria, the roof over the main restaurants needs to be replaced, as there were multiple leaks during an abnormally rainy week.

Also, we are working to address every problem we had with our pump system and we are not expecting more interruptions on this service. Again, I deeply apologize as I know this unfortunate event really affected your experience at our hotel. We appreciate your feedback and we hope to have the opportunity of serving you again in your future visits to St Croix.

Upon getting there, we were quickly greeted by a friendly bartender and front desk attendant who took our bags from the taxi and brought us drinks. Quick and easy check in, right to the room. Upon entering the room, we were promptly smacked in the face with the worst smell of mold and mildew. The room and hotel were no where near as nice and "updated" as they appear in all of the photos. Shower was not very clean, and my wife and I showered on a bath towel so we didn't have to stand on the actual shower floor. Bathroom fan did not work, which can be a problem in a small room.

One of the restaurants took in a lot of water during a rainy day and also stunk like mold and mildew. Drinks and food are pretty lackluster, you'll find better eating pretty much anywhere on the island. Only decent food were the chicken wings and pizza at the oceans bar. The Tuscany restaurant that is open 3 nights a week was ok with a 3 course meal. The Wave breakfast buffet left a little to be desired as well. Choices varied, and the food itself was not great. Bit into several pieces of spoiled fruit.

Thankfully the staff is amazing, otherwise this would be a one star review. Beds are awful as are the pillows. Wifi is constantly in and out. Hot tub was down the entire time we were there. This is supposed to be fairly "newly renovated" and saw absolutely no signs of that whatsoever. They advertise as cleaning their beach regularly - they do not, and never did while we were there. I wouldn't stay ay this resort again. Thankfully St. Croix is a beautiful island, and we decided to rent a car and get out and about, which in the end gave us a great vacation. The resort is fairly secluded - away from the town and with little to do. Don't get stuck in the mindset of wanting all inclusive like I did, it's not worth the tradeoff.

We just returned from our trip to Divi Carina Bay and while the island is beautiful, this resort could use a lot of changes. They were understaffed which meant we had to wait lengthy periods when trying to get food or drinks. The staff didn't seem very happy to be there either. The beach was completely unusable due to the seaweed and there were times that it was unenjoyable to even be outside because the smell was so pungent. We ended up renting a car to go to other beaches to enjoy. I'm not sure why this resort doesn't rake the beach like other resorts do. The rooms were clean, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. We stayed at Oceans, which is advertised as being more tranquil and relaxing than the other side of the resort. These rooms face the pool and bar and on nights the DJ was there, the music was extremely loud and going until 11pm. And then they were remodeling the unit below us and the banging started at 7am every morning. The food was mediocre and very limited. The Italian restaurant is only opened 3 days a week. This resort looked nothing like the pictures, and it seemed like they have just given up on the upkeep. We are already talking about another trip to the island but will definitely not be staying at this resort and would not recommend it to anyone.

Good Afternoon, We are disappointed to hear about your experience. I would love to address any issues you may have faced. I'm sorry to hear that you experienced long wait times for food or drinks and it is something I will address with our F&B team in addition to the quality concerns. As is disclosed in several instances on our website, and in every confirmation email. We do warn about the presence of Sargassum Seaweed. Due to active sea turtle nesting, we are very limited in what can be done on the beach in terms of removal. This is an ongoing issues during the summer and fall months. We do offer daily shuttles to clear beaches to address this and we agree that renting a car is a great way to explore the island. I do apologize that the music and renovations caused disturbances during your stay. We can always assist in a room change if need be. Unfortunately I don't have a record of you requesting assistance or giving feedback during your stay, which we would have loved to be able to address and ensure your stay improved. Lastly we do disclose the hours of operation for each food and beverage outlet within the resort and during nights when Tuscany is not operating, we offer dining at both our Waves buffet and Oceans pool bar. I would love to get more details so that I can utilize your feedback as we continue to improve the guest experience at Carina Bay. Please feel free to reach out so I can further assist, Byron Bell General Manager Carina Bay byron.bell@divicarina.com

If you are looking for a resort with an accessible private beach, luxurious rooms, amazing food, well this is not the place for you. I went on a solo trip in September 2024 for my birthday. As soon as I got of the cab I knew this place was not going to give me the experience I wanted. Upon checking in the desk, clerk told me that the hotel is busing to a public beach for free once a day because the beach on the property had an astronomical amount of seaweed that smelled and had bugs in it. And no point before my arrival did the hotel reach out to me to tell me about this. I felt scammed and bamboozled, but was willing to make the best out of the next five days. The food options were mediocre. The food was bland, sometimes cold and just wasn’t appealing. The room was clearly in need of an upgrade. There were cracks and water all over the property, including the hotel rooms. I booked these accommodations through my reputable, travel agent who recommended the property because a previous couple. Have a wonderful time there. Needless to say the second day of my trip, I called my advisor, telling her how awful the property was and how disappointed I was. The property offered no type of compensation or even an apology for selling a luxurious resort and giving me a great value brand of resort. Never again.

I understand this resort is on the water and they are subject to hurricanes. However, I expected the property as well as the private beach to be up kept despite Mother Nature

Thank you for your feedback, We do have notices listed on the website, during booking, and on all confirmation emails, that from approximately April to October, the resort beach does face a heavy influx of Sargassum seaweed. We do apologize for the disappointing experience with food and beverage, and the general property upkeep and will utilize your feedback to improve our offerings. While we don't advertise Carina Bay as a luxury experience, we certainly would have hoped to have made your stay more enjoyable. We would be happy to evaluate your stay if contacted.

We stayed At Divi Carina Bay for our Honeymoon the last week of April 2024, and it was beautiful. This was a dream come true, and everything that matters was perfect, but there are a few things to note about the resort:

1) Only the pool-side restaurant serves lunch, and there is no food service available after 9:30pm
2) Reuse your beach towels. There is no laundry on-site, and twice during our 6 day stay we were told that they did not have any more dry towels available. (Both times we were able to get towels within 2hrs)
3) The resort is quite remote, even by St. Croix standards, and will cost $25+ per person each way for a taxi to get pretty much anywhere on the island (It cost the 2 of us $120 just to get to and from the airport).

Aside from those few minor things, the staff at the resort was extremely friendly and willing to help with literally any request we had. The beach was beautiful, the water clear and warm, and they absolutely DO NOT skimp on the drinks.

Also, I am happy to learn that our team was friendly and your stay was a dream come true. Additionally, we will definitely work to address the concerns you brought to our attention about food services and laundry. In a site note, you are correct, it is always better to book the taxi with our local partners. Also, our breakfast service runs until 10:30 am and Oceans (pool bar and grill) starts serving you at 11 am to make sure you don’t have to wait for food offerings. Again, we are grateful for your feedback and we look forward to serving you again on your next visit.

The resort is run down and is badly in need of a complete renovation. We weren't able to use the beach because there was so much seaweed. I had heard that the tractor or machine they used to clean the seaweed broke (not sure if this is true or not) but we went on the beach one day and had to walk over the accumulated seaweed which obviously hadn't been raked in quite a while. There were weeds growing on the beach nearer the hotel and the landscaping on the beach was unattended. Everywhere you looked there was deferred maintenance, peeling paint, rust, rotten wood. The guests that ate and drank by the pool area left cups and trays of food and they weren't picked up and sat for quite some time sometimes all day.

Our sliding glass doors to our balcony wouldn’t close all the way and we were overlooking the pool. At night they had a DJ that played booty music very loud and it went from around 8-11p each night. It was so loud in our room we could t even watch tv there was no way to escape it.

The food at the bar was mostly fried there were only a few menu items. The burger was a thin frozen patty. The quesadilla was ok. The wings were good.

The servers were all friendly and interactions with the staff were ok. The food was just okay didn’t seem like much variation at all from night to night. Seemed like a lot of frozen food not a lot of fresh food. Eggs tasted off in the am both times I had breakfast there tasted odd so I didn’t eat them. The pasta dishes in the evening were good had a spicey lobster pasta dish that tasted good. The food could have definitely been much better overall.

I’d say the resort in general was a big let down.

All bartenders and cooks at the beach bar are awesome. Front desk and coffee shop employees were always pleasant. The poor experience and extremely review I'm leaving is due to quality for dollar. I have traveled the world and never been this disappointed in the service for price. There was NO coffee type beverages available after 12:00PM - even dining with dessert. The food selection was average at best and cafeteria quality for the most part. We paid top dollar and expected much better quality for the price paid. If you can get bargain pricing and don't mind average food - it's a nice experience. But it is very isolated on the east end of the island and the only options for food are at the resort unless you have a car and want to drive 20-30 minutes.

From the moment we checked in I knew our vacation would be memorable. Our villa was just spacious enough to feel homey and inviting with bright natural lighting from our balcony illuminating the interior. It was nice to have a comfortable place to relax on the one rainy day we had. The resort itself was inviting and the staff were all very friendly. Lia & Alhana were so friendly and made us feel like we were old friends. Accommodations at the resort seemed more than adequate. We dined at Tuscany on our first night and from the service to the food we were thoroughly satisfied. Breakfast at Waves was a great way to start our day and lunch at Ocean poolside bar was great for munching after sunbathing and cocktails.

While all of this was great, we used the resort as a base of operations for our adventures as STX has so much to explore. The concierge desk gave us information about two hikes to do, one of which included a cool hike to tide pools. I would recommend renting a car from centerline to make traversing the island a bit easier as taxis can be expensive and a headache to try to get to take you to where you want to go. The Domino Club pig bar in the rainforest is a must do, Point Udall on the east end is fantastic place to take photos and there is a hike down to the beach as well. Christiansted and the boardwalk are a fun place to spend an afternoon. Carombola provided some great golfing.

Even though we didn’t spend a lot of time at the resort, it was a great place to start and end our days, most of them ending at the casino and then to the poolside bar where we enjoyed some late night cocktails and entertainment (we sang karaoke which I NEVER do, so fun!). Overall Divi offered everything we wanted and was a great stay for our vacation that we would visit again.
