Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is a favorite when it comes to service, upon entering reception, room service, food, and taxi. My safety was of upmost importance - never felt insecure or threatened by the so called crime in the country (like all countries there is crime everywhere - so Trinidad is no different). Taking a hotel taxi was very easy and safe. Driver took me to my destination and waited. Service - was impeccable as always. Friendly, upgrades, and always willing to help. I am a Hilton Honors member, got upgraded to the Executive floor which looked a bit dated on the outside but the rooms and bathroom were very nice. The hotel is soon to undergo massive updates and reconstruction. Like several hotels in Trinidad. Breakfast at both the Executive lounge and the main dining rooms are good. Dinner was okay but a little overpriced. Visited the Loce Sushi restaurant where it was awesome. There was a little smell in the elevators but the desk said that they were aware and fixing. My room was perfect with no smell, daily service, and quiet enough to get my work done with a view of the gardens. Although if you will be working in the room - I did hear the gardeners each morning. So request a room maybe overlooking the pool. Enjoy! A beautiful hotel with their upside down wonder (the hotel rooms are down below when you enter the lobby).

This was my 3rd time here...Smooth check in as always, cleanliness of entire hotel and rooms, wide variety in breakfast buffet. Large room, hot water showers, hot tub and large pool, overall a great experience for the family. Will definitely return again!

The summary is that is not worth the money paid. You can expect a high quality hotel, it is a Hilton, but the real thing is that is old, seems to be in a hotel 30-40 years old. The carpet in the room is wear and in the rest of the hotel it is too old design. The doors, the windows, etc, give you the sensation of being in the nineties. It is not so bad, but the question is that for me this hotel does not have the HILTON quality you can expect. There are good points, as the gym that is great, with a lot of equipment and open 24 hours, and breakfast, with variety and a cooker. For me is important the gym facilities, so I probably would go back, but only for that reason, the rest is really out of time.

I haven’t stayed in this hotel for the past 9 years, but decided to on my recent trip. As a Hilton Honours Member, I was interested to see if things had changed from the last time I reviewed on Trip Advisor. We arrived arrived from the airport just under an hour before check in time and told that we had to wait until 3pm if I didn’t pay for early check in. I asked if I could even though it was under an hour and they told me that they had to availability. They did offer to us to leave our luggage with them and told us that we could sit downs on the Garden deck until our room was ready, which we did. I was checked in on my Hilton App so I already knew my room number. After sitting for about 20 mins my partner has to use the washroom and as we walked past the front desk about 2:45pm they called me over and told us that we can check in. The lobby and common areas was nicely put together and clean. There was costumes situated all over and the grounds, pool and restaurant looked very inviting. However, when it came to the room itself, I really wished I took some pictures. There was barely exact towels, no hair dryer, the walls by the toilet were dirty and looked to have boogers on it and there was something that looked like something white splashed up on the back of the the bathroom door. There was also some stains on the ironing board. And the lamp in the desk didn’t seem to work. In the end of the day we’re glad it was only a one night stay. Definitely not the Hilton experience we’re used to. Not really a fan of this hotel but stayed here because the rest of our party was.

My partner and I visited the restaurant for food because it was one of few places open over carnival. The food was great so, fair play to the chef however, the rest of your team let you down - for the price, the service was terrible and we were given plastic knives, forks and spoons to eat our food with, when paying a £180 bill! A prime example of a corporate US brand taking advantage because they know they can!

This hotel was very clean. The staff was very kind. Rooms were cleaned daily. The beds were very comfortable. We felt safe at all times. There are a few restaurants and a pool onsite as well as tennis courts. The location offered beautiful views of Port of Spain. The location was very central to highways and local activities. Wifi was good at all times. Parking was easy and we felt safe parking on site. Note depending on the time that you arrive on the Island it may be Carnival season and it can get loud. The staff is very good at trying to keep the noise level down without you having to ask. It was easy to walk and get around this hotel.

So my boyfriend and I decided to stay at Hilton one night for new years eve(we are locals). First of all the hotel was completely booked out and clearly they could not handle the volume of guests. After checking in a 3pm, the first issue was that the elevators were not working so guests had to use the service elevators to get to and from their rooms.Eventually throughout the night they got it fixed but still a very annoying start to the stay. The room we were given was on the 10th foor. Upon arriving on the tenth floor the musty, stuffy smell of the WHOLE foor was very noticable. The carpets looked visibily OLD and DIRTY. The room itself was even worse,it smelt STUFFY, MOLDY and OLD. We could not even stay in the room for long periods as we instantly began sneezing and coughing. Also no bottled water provided in the rooms. On new years day we checked out early cause we just wanted to leave. We barely slept due to the smell and stuffyness of the room. We did let the front desk staff know about the conditions of the room but she didn't seem to take the complaint seriously or offer any consessions. TERRIBLE STAY AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK. Hilton needs to rennovate this hotel and REMOVE those disgusting carpets. I left there with a sinus infection. Absolutely ridiculous!

I have stayed at this Hilton most times while in Trinidad and my stay was just about the same. The pool has been upgraded for one thing. But what needs to be noted is for the staff to be more responsive to the needs of the guest. I would have raised some issues (not just on this visit but prior visits) and it appears as though it falls on deaf ears. For example, getting through to the front desk from the room is finding a needle in a haystack. Hoping they do better for future visits.

Im currently staying at the hotel and its off to Rocky start, maybe things will change before my departure. 1st issue - safety - our key cards were incorrectly programmed, not allowing us to get back in our suite after leaving however i tried the suite next door thinking maybe i had the wrong room and it worked. We notified someone and was told security would deliver a new cards in under 10 mins. An hour passed and I had to go to front desk to have new cards programmed. 2nd issues - getting in touch with guest services - it seems these guys are understaffed, I reached out to guest services 3 times, each time spending more than 4 minutes on the phone before someone picked up on the third call after 3 mins. 3rd issue - tv - cable on tv flickers, so you can’t enjoy a tv show if one of the channels affected by flickering, alternatively you there’s no access to any streaming services, not even YouTube. 4th issue - Ice maker on floor is not operational 5th issue - GM does not pick up, before I wrote this I wanted to reach out to the gm or someone senior to voice my fustrations, no answer. I’m only in town for a week and really wanted to give this place a try, I usually stay at Hyatt and haven’t had anything go so rough that I felt like writing a review. I really hope they do better for future patrons. The only positive thing I have to say at this point is the location is great.
