We could not have been more pleased with the Grandview. The condo was spacious and clean, the staff was extremely friendly, and we had everything we needed right there or within walking distance. The pool was absolutely beautiful and my children loved snorkeling in the...More
Grandview is at the more southern end of 7 mile beach so not as busy which makes for a nice chill beach experience. A quick walk north on the beach will put one into the busier parts of SMB and all it has to offer.
We rented a 2 bdrm 2 ba condo for the week. It was our first time trying a condo as opposed to a hotel. We will not stay at a hotel in the Caymans again. The staff met us on a Sunday afternoon to give...More

It depends on how fit you are, and how you handle the heat. There is a grocery store less than a 10 minute walk away (closed on Sundays), and we pretty easily walked into the center of George Town (about a 30 minute walk). There are also several restaurants within a 20 minute walk in both directions. You could get by without a car, if you don't mind walking in the heat, and you don't want to see the rest of the island. As for the beach, if you pick your way through the rocks, you can actually get into the ocean and swim a bit at one small piece of the condo beach (you can also easily splash your feet in the water on the sand, if that's all you want to do). The public beach is a 5-10 minute walk along the beach to the North (you have to look for the rock path around a bit of a wall, but it's there). If you get a car, there is plenty of parking, and driving on the island isn't bad at all, if you can handle being on the English side of the road.
