Great hotel and amenities. Staff is super nice and friendly - they become your best friends after a stay. Shot out to Damian, Beth for making our experience great as well as as Philips for being the best bartender and making an amazing mojito!
We decided to go to Grand Cayman for a couples getaway before Christmas and booked through Costco. I am a Marriott member but the deal through Costco was too good to pass up. We arrived to an incredibly welcoming lobby, spacious and inviting with a...More
I stayed at the Marriott for 7 days and had a good time. The hotel is clean, well maintained and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant and bar are always busy when they’re open, with guests filling the area at all hours of the...More
The hotel has many amenities including complementary snorkeling equipment, lots of kids activities, nightly dinner specials. The beach has eroded over the past year but still highly enjoyable. Pool and hot tub are steps from the rooms, and close to ocean access. Plenty of seating...More
Spent the extra money for oceanview, ended up on the 2nd floor looking at the roof of the bar. Ice machines not working on a couple of floors for a day. The beach is eroded away, the pictures are not accurate.More

While I was here the beach was very short, almost no room for chairs. Almost everyone had to go back to the pool area. We attempted lounging on the beach but the tide was very strong and would wet you while you were suntanning. Probably not the best option for your 1 year old to play.

In front of the Marriott their isn't much beach. They have built their restaurant and pool areas fairly close to the water. There is room for perhaps 2 rows of chairs and one of those rows would have water running up under it as the waves come in. So, for a one-year old, no place to play, but if you walk down the beach 50' there is a much wider beach in front of another property. You are allowed to use the beach near the water, but you can't use their chairs or park your towels on their property. There would be plenty of room to spread your towels in the vicinity of the beach but high enough so that the water didn't come near your towels. A storm or storms eroded the beach and they say it will eventually come back. There are no plans to bring in more sand as it would just wash away. In the last two weeks, other travelers have asked this same question. Check those responses to see how others assess the situation.

I’m getting a kick out of the “free” part of this. Yes, it is free after you have paid the $50/day Resort Fee. We were just there and the water sports office closes at 4:30pm so you have to have the gear back before then. We brought the mask and snorkel from the US with us and just borrowed the fins. Not keen on sharing the snorkel part with other guests. There is decent snorkeling right off the beach, but on another trip we went to Smith’s Cove and there seemed to be a lot of people enjoying the snorkeling there. It is located just the other side of Georgetown.
