Our place is about 5 minutes walk down hill to the Windwardside where you find shops and restaurants/bars. When you come for diving, the dive shops will arrange transportation from the hotel to the harbor (Fort Bay) and back. Renting a car is more for those visitors who don't come for diving but more for hiking or site seeing. I hope this is helpful.
