This property is a guesthouse, not a hotel. The owners live in it. They offer everything you will need for a great time on Vieques (car rental, beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel equipment, etc). They do not clean your room or change your towels during the week (however you can take as many clean towels as you like from their...

This is our fourth year at Casa La Lanchita and I am running out of superlatives. First of all, the location: your view out the window and on the pool desk is spectacular. Second, the pools, including a perfect and WARM kiddie pool that our 4 year old twins love almost as much as life itself. Third: the unit we...

La Lanchita is located literally a few feet from the Atlantic, so you have incomparable views and sunsets, and are lulled to sleep by the sound of waves (generally smallish ones). This is not a luxury resort, so don't go here if you want to be walled off from the island culture in some fancy place. Go here because the...

This was our first trip to Vieques. Doug and Marikay were amazing! Doug picked us up and on the ride to the resort, pointed out things we needed to know as first timers. Once we arrived we were welcomed as friends. We were invited in, handed what was the best rum punch on the island. Next they sat us down,...

A family group pre Christamas vacation, took us to Vieques. Since one of the attendees stay at Casa La Lanchita before, that was the place to be. Although the place is not as accessible or does not have a beach, it's home atmosphere and great service easily overcome the first two. Both owners and their employees, definitely make sure your...

We loved our stay! The hosts were kind and accomodating and views couldn't be beat. We traveled with three kids (ages 6,8,10) and it was a perfect spot. Highly highly recommend La Lanchita if you go to Vieques.

We decided to visit the island of Vieques last minute. A friend referred us to Casa La Lachinta, and we were not disappointed. Doug met us at the ferry to bring us to the hotel. Both Doug and Marikay were welcoming at the moment we arrived. I was a little "green" from the ferry ride, and they told us that...

The owners, Doug & Marikay McHoul, greeted us with delicious rum punches, introduced us to their three dogs and to an extended verbal tour of the island's features and treasures. It felt more like being welcomed into a new friend's home rather than experiencing the stiff formality of the ordinary tourist hotel. The suite for four was clean and spacious,...

We stayed at Casa La Lanchita for a week and didn't want to leave! Doug & Marikay are the most gracious and courteous hosts. We felt right at home and they gave excellent suggestions for dining out. The rooms were beautiful and you hear the ocean at all times. You get all the comforts of home in this special piece...

We had the pleasure of staying at La Lanchita for 3 nights 6 years ago. We vowed to come make for a longer time. This time, we came back with our daughters, son in law and 5 mth old grandaughter. This little piece of paradise is owned by a great couple, Doug and Marykay McCool. It is almost undescribable the...
