Great place and island. Food, the best on the island. Staff nice and friendly. When we travel to the Carribean, we always switch our attitudes to island living. That way we are relaxed and enjoy the local culture.

David's scallops were one of our favorite dishes. Sitting in the open air overlooking the water - perfect end to a beautiful day. Had tried a few other places on the "strip" but ended up at the Trade Winds for 3 of our 7 nights due to the great meals and friendly staff. Looking forward to going back next winter.....

We paid about 90 dollars for a double room per night and stayed two nights. The location of the guesthouse is the big plus, but that's it. The first room offered to us was located in the garden and had no windows. We changed to another room in the restaurant which was still very dark, it did not look very...

If I owned this place and saw the way the waitstaff treated the customers, I would fire them on the spot. The food was great. Pricey, but worth it. The women working at the restaurant should be ashamed of themselves.

Our entire reason for visiting Vieques island was to see the bioluminescent bay. Earliest tours end around 8PM and the last ferry from Vieques back to PR was 6pm so it became obvious that we needed to stay overnight. We contacted 10+ hotels and no one would book us for less than 2-3 nights, some only booking for week long...

Room was a bit like a cave and window needed a shade as light came in all night but met most of own needs for a place to crash while visiting Vieques. Food was fabulous in their restaurant.

The room (Room 10) was beautifully decorated and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were advised to leave our valuables in the room if we were going to the beach, and we could leave our keys with the office. The restaurant was very good, though pricier than the other places on Esperanza. The downside is that there were mosquitos...

We loved this place! We came during low season (beginning of September '09) and ended up staying an extra night. We would have stayed the whole week if we hadn't already been paid up at a hotel in San Juan. This was just what we were looking for in a vacation. The owners and bartenders were extremely friendly and laid...

Can't get over the bad reviews for this place. It's $80 a night! What do you expect? I have stayed here twice by myself and both times just fell in love with the place. I'm no longer a backpacker and have stayed at some very nice $400 a night hotels all over the world, but I find motels like the...

The Trade Winds is right on the Malecon (seawall) in Esperanza, a funky little town with a relaxed vibe. We could only confirm one night because there was a group arriving the next day. Our room was really cute -- trump d'loeil paintings really brightened a space with very little natural light. Happily, there was a cancellation, so we stayed...
