Hyatt House San Juan garners accolades for its prime location, offering easy access to Old San Juan and various attractions, and its clean, modern atmosphere, complete with a renovated lobby and bar. The spacious rooms receive commendation for their contemporaneity, though some guests noted maintenance issues.
While the shuttle service and amenities like the swimming pool and breakfast options are often highlights, the service quality appears inconsistent, with reports ranging from commendable to below expectations. Opinions on value are divided, with some guests finding the experience worth the cost and others pointing out overcharges.

Great location, clean hotel with friendly staff. We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights visiting family in PR. The onsite parking was a breeze never and issue finding a spot well illuminated and safe. The rooms were comfortable return after a long day. Convenient to have kitchenette access. The shuttles into town great idea. It’s proximity to food options was great. Breakfast was a nice perk. I would recommend and come again.

I booked a "1 Bdrm Suite:2 Queen:1 Sofabed" for a family of 5 for the night before a NCL Cruise. The room was clean spacious with 2 double beds and a pull out couch in the living room. The room also had a kitchen / dining area. The room had a safe. The AC worked well.
The hotel is very close to the NCL cruise terminal and about a 10 minute drive to the airport. Despite the proximity to the cruise terminal a taxi or Uber is recommended because the road to terminal is busy and there are no sidewalks.
The property was modern and clean. The lobby is open to the bar and breakfast area. There were lots of options at the complimentary breakfast buffet, including a custom omelette station. The hotel has a nice gym and games room with a pool table and foosball. The pool area is nice with some shade and lounge chairs.
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary shuttle to the beach and Old San Juan was a pleasant surprise. It was very convenitent to be able to store our luggage before and after our cruise.
I don't write many reviews, but felt necessary because there are some poor reviews of hotels in San Juan and this property exceeded my expectations. I. would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Sarah at the front desk was helpful even before we came with giving suggestions on what to do in the area. They worked hard to keep the place clean. Consistently throughout the day, they were wiping down the doors, vacuuming, etc. The included breakfast buffet was plentiful. The unit was a good size for two. Nothing special but typical extended stay hotel.. It overlooks a harbor. The pool was clean and wasn’t crowded when we were there. Convenient location. It is less than a mile from Condado beach. There is a free (tips only) van that will take you to Escambron beach and also to Old San Juan. There is an area to the left of the hotel and up the hill that I wouldn’t walk alone at night, because it’s a bit deserted but we discovered some good local food trucks during the day. Area is easy to get an Uber if you don’t have a car. It’s walking distance to DISTRITO T-Mobile, which has an indoor arcade and zip-line along with various eateries. Walking there anytime even at night felt safe. I would definitely stay there again.

Good * Some very helpful and caring people staff the breakfast buffet. They are just good people who care that their guests eat a healthy breakfast. Many healthy choices, even for vegetarians. However, live omelette counter was not available due to staff shortage when we went * In old San Juan, so close to restaurants, airport, and Pinones area beaches
Bad * As a rule post-covid, hotels have stopped cleaning between guests. Unclean bathrooms, dirty and unvacuumed carpets was what I expected when I checked in, and this property did not disappoint me. Luckily I carry a scrubber, soap. and disinfecting wipes with me nowadays after many such dirty hotel experiences post-covid. So I was prepared. * Room is not lit well. Living area of our suit had no light source. We went and told the front desk but obviously they couldn't be bothered. * Front desk will not pick up your calls. So for little things, you have to personally go down to the front desk * They don't do housekeeping daily, not even a refresh. This one was new to me. I knew hotels had stopped cleaning and scrubbing their rooms after covid, but didn't know that they had stopped making beds, refreshing fresh towels, toilet paper rolls, etc. Guess, we are to expect literally a roof over our head and nothing else going forward. Such is the post-covid world.

Overall a good stay. The location is not great for a tourist, we had to take Ubers or walk 20+ minutes to get across the bridge to Condado and walking in San Juan is not that easy as there are no pedestrian walks on most crossings. We were not told during check-in the first time that there was a shuttle to OSJ. Had we known we would've probably used it. Service overall was good, the staff was accommodating and helpful.
The room was fine. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We had issues with the safe in our room. It was dead, ran out of batteries. Perhaps they should test the safe before delivering the room. One night we requested bath towels and were told they "didn't have any" but the next morning the reception desk clarified that was a mistake (?) The worst part about the hotel was the food. The breakfast is below average. I made simple requests like raw maple syrup or almond milk and was told they didn't have any. The dinner we ate at the bar was the most disgusting food we had in the entire trip. One entrée we sent back because it did not fit the description in the menu. I think they'll be better served not offering any food. The gym is below average, lacking basic equipment like yoga balls, etc.

The stay is convenient and the rooms are well kept. However, the customer service at this location is poor. Room service failed to change my sheets (make up was visible on the pillow case), and I consistently had to request fresh linens (towels and sheets) despite having room service for the day. Also, a complaint was made about the construction nearby (7 am dirt pounding), and the team refused to provide any sort of accommodation or even empathy. I'd requested for a room change on a Friday, and was guaranteed that would happen on Monday. When Monday came, they refused to change my room. LIVID!

Let me give the quick version. Unless you are bringing a pet, stay at the Hyatt Place across the street. My husband and I stayed here for our 5th Wedding anniversary from 11/2-11/5 worst choice of our trip. After a 5 hour flight we made it to the hotel a little after 5PM on Thursday evening. While checking in I asked for a specific room location and was told they could not accommodate due to the hotel being full, ok. We went up to our room and immediately upon entering there was a strong odor and the room was moist feeling (which lasted our entire stay no matter what temp the thermostat was set on). The BIGGEST issue was within 5 mins of walking in the door all the power to the entire hotel went out. We walked down the stairs to the lobby to inquire what happened and in short was informed they had no idea what happened or when the power would be restored. We then walked to the Hyatt Place across the street and the two other business right beside our hotel and they ALL still had power. I then called Hyatt corporate to try to get reservations else where and was told because we had JUST checked in I would have to work out arrangements with our current hotel which was no help. There was no one at the front desk during the outage so we went back to our room where we sat in a dark, moist, hot, odor filled room for almost an hour before the power was restored when it was 86 degrees. Also I am certain someone had a pet in this room prior to us and it was NOT cleaned correctly. The staff was also very Unfriendly minus maybe one front desk attendant I encountered during our stay. The only positive thing I can say is that they had a nice variety of breakfast items to choose from each morning and the location of the hotel was pretty convenient to a lot of things we did. Other than that it was not worth the money. And when I asked about any credit or concessions being given for the inconvenience and time without power the desk clerk was offended and when I asked to speak to someone in management I was told it was only him. And for the record this must be a hotel Hyatt acquired because this fell very short of the usual Hyatt standard. This hotel was NOT updated. They painted over things to make them appear new but it was very obvious!

The location was perfect if you want to be fairly close to the cruise terminals, and also about 15 minutes from the airport. The hotel is modern and pretty well kept. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious. The breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations, and the best we have had outside of Europe. They had fruits, American breakfast items, cereals, many kinds of juices, donuts, and bagels, made to order omelets, and much, much more. The chef came out and checked things personally. Next door is a Longhorn Steakhouse, and Olive Garden. It is a nice area of San Juan. The cost was a little pricey, but less than nearby competitors. They have a nice shuttle that goes to three area stops that you may want to visit. The front desk answered all our questions and otherwise were quite responsive. We would stay again.

Great hotel for pre cruise stay. Can see cruise port from hotel. Great location near t mobile area. Beautiful area to walk around with great places to eat nearby. We have stayed at sister property across the street (Hyatt Place) as well. Both are nice properties, but we liked Hyatt House a little better. Property has a nice pool area, work out facilities, breakfast area and work center with computers and printer. Staff was very friendly and hotel was clean and safe. Staff kept out luggage locked up for us after we checked out so that we could go explore the area without dragging our bags around. We will stay here next time we visit San Juan!

Located across the street from the other Hyatt property (Hyatt Place). Both are conveniently located just a short walk away to T-Mobile District which offers entertainment and dining options. Hyatt House offers complimentary breakfast buffet with option to have an omelette made to order. There’s also a complimentary shuttles that brings you to nearby Escambron Beach as well as Old San Juan. Ubers are abundant and cheap. Going into Old San Juan Friday night was $6 and returning home was just over $7. Airport to hotel was $14. Facilities are new and clean. Pool area is nice but small.

It sounds like an amazing view; though, I cannot tell for sure, from my experience, if you will be able to see ships. I would rather call front desk to make sure. Hope you enjoy your stay to the max!
