While guests often appreciate the Condado Palm Inn San Juan's prime location and the comfort of the beds, the hotel's rooms have faced criticism for appearing outdated and not always meeting cleanliness standards. The atmosphere is described as tranquil by some, yet others suggest it requires freshening up. Opinions on the hotel's value and service are divided; travelers are sometimes disappointed by high costs and service inconsistencies. The amenities, including 24-hour offerings, are noted, although the resort fee and pool size have not escaped scrutiny.

This has been my go-to hotel in San Juan for several years, and it's become even better now that it's under the Hilton umbrella. The location can't be beat, right in the heart of Condado with everything you could need within walking distance. The higher floors have wonderful ocean views without the typical ocean view rates. The property offers a text feature with the front desk, and whenever I used it I got a quick response. The room and common areas are spotless, the beds and pillows were comfortable, water pressure is good and hot water is plentiful. I went into Chocobar Cortes, the wonderful chocolate shop on the first floor, s couple of times each day. They have a wide and interesting variety of chocolate-focused items, from breakfast to cocktails. Ropa Vieja, the full service restaurant in the hotel, offers fine dining and great drinks. It's a short Uber or cab ride to Old San Juan, Santurce or the huge Plaza las Americas mall. Lastly, there's a designated area for the hotel on the beach with beach chairs and umbrellas available from 9 to 5 each day. I can't wait for my next visit.

I want to express my gratitude to the staff of the hotel. We had an exceptional stay and experienced excellent customer service (the housekeeping staff were so cheery and helpful!). A special thanks goes to Carlos from the front desk. He was more than accommodating and patient with every one of my many questions. He was a helpful delight.

Regarding the hotel space itself, it's much nicer in person. The pool deck is great for hanging out, the lobby is beautiful, the rooms were spacious and clean. There's also a lovely scent throughout the first floor. I overheard another guest asking what the scent is. Location is excellent and the neighborhood is safe.

My family and I had an awesome time at the Condado Palm Inn hotel. The rooms, 1 King Ocean View (Blue) on the 18th floor and 1 King Ocean Suite on the 17th floor (2 burners, microwave and full size refrigerator), were spacious and very nice with gorgeous partial ocean views. The beach is within short walking distance. Hot water and daily towels and cleaning services were had without any issues on a daily basis. They offer an onsite outdoor restaurant that sports a delicious but somewhat pricey cuisine. For To-Go orders, they had to be placed at the bar whose slow service to simply take the order I found to be unacceptable especially when the customer has been waiting for over 10 minutes. The breakfast area was always clean and the food was plentiful. Memorable services go to Wallace for his outstanding omelets and Bianca for being an excellent host. Also special mentions to Yamiletzy and Jianni for their front desk services / assistance as well as the behind the scenes cleaning staff that kept our rooms immaculate!

Suggestions for areas of improvement:
1. Small dish detergent and a roll of paper towels for rooms with a kitchen.
2. At time of booking, it would be nice if customer could be notified of there being a $500 deposit per room upon arrival.
3. Noise reduction improvements for windows for areas facing the streets below. The sliding door did an excellent job of reducing noise.

Thank you for a memorable experience!

During my five-night stay at the Condado Palm Inn, I found it to be the most average Hilton property I've encountered. On the positive side, the hotel's location is highly convenient, with a Walgreens directly across the street and another convenience store nearby. Additionally, a beach, several restaurants, and souvenir shops are within close proximity, although the beach is not recommended for swimming due to strong rip currents. The front desk staff was helpful during check-in, making the arrival process smooth.

However, the experience was marred by several disappointments. The property itself shows signs of neglect, with chipped paint, watermarks, and peeling doors. The housekeeping service was subpar, with rooms not fully cleaned on a daily basis, and the same sheets, including one with a hole, remained unchanged throughout my stay. I frequently had to visit the lobby to request towels, teacups, and sugar packs, as these were not replenished. Moreover, my personal blue towel went missing after housekeeping, with only a weak apology from management and no resolution. It is perplexing how a blue towel could be mistaken for the hotel's white ones and then be irretrievable.

Lastly, check-out was frustrating as I had to insist repeatedly with the floor manager to have my refundable security deposit returned, despite having already paid taxes and fees at check-in and providing a receipt for the deposit.

I stayed at this Hilton for three nights for Christmas week and I am beyond disappointed with the experience. Upon arrival late, the penthouse we paid for was not ready. It hadn't been cleaned, there were no amenities in the room, and the smell of cigarettes and weed was overwhelming. It was impossible to sleep through it. On top of that, the pull-out couch for my son wasn't set up, and there were no sheets or bedding provided. When I complained, the staff explained that they don't leave bedding in the room because they prefer to hand it to guests to keep it fresh--yet it wasn't handed to me at check-in. Clearly, they forgot.

I booked this room months in advance, and it is unfortunate that it wasn't prepared at all. As a Hilton Gold member, I was expecting better, yet the room only had two bottles of water in the fridge.

Upon our late arrival they mentioned a $45 "resort fee" that wasn't disclosed when I booked and doesn’t have this anywhere on the Hilton site. The fee is supposedly for beach access and amenities I never planned to use, as well as a couple of bottles of water and a free chocolate coupon that they didn't even have. I've already filed a complaint with Hilton's headquarters.

They moved us to another Penthouse room the following day but having our clothes smell like cigarettes the next day, it left a bad taste to the Penthouse experience….

The local management team reached out to us to remediate the situation, I am giving 3 stars because they provided a solution to the experience we had.

My mother, daughter, and I stayed here the week before Christmas. The staff are absolutely delightful. It was also decorated beautifully. The location was central to many of the things we wanted to do. The beach staff were also attentive.

Most of the constructive feedback I have is probably related to the change in branding & the hotel recently becoming part of the Hilton family:

1. The Hilton diamond benefit is a complimentary continental breakfast with a small up-charge for the full breakfast. While we only did this breakfast one time during our five day stay and went to restaurants the other days, I was disappointed that the hotel defines continental breakfast as only including cereal, fruit, and coffee. The pastries and breads were not included, which is not typically the way continental breakfast is defined.

2. The practice of housekeeping is to only place one set of towels in hotel rooms, even those with double beds. We had to call down for towels repeatedly, and probably due to short staffing, they were not always able to bring them up in a timely fashion. When they did arrive, people were very kind.

3. The staff did not regularly wash and replace pool towels, but the upside was at the pool was open 24 hours. I think that this could be easily remedied by just having someone from staff visit the pool area on a regular basis, or placing a sign at the pool indicating that towels are available at the front desk during certain periods of time.

3. My mother is almost 80 years old and gets cold really easily. The climate control in our room was not allowing us to warm the room up. There was some electrical work done to the hotel while we were there, however, and the last night was relatively comfortable. She asked for a blanket to be brought to the room more than once and it never came.

I gave the stay four stars because it does not appear that the staff are uncaring. I just hope that the management gives them what is needed to measure up to the Hilton standards.

Our entire experience gave us snow birds a much needed rest. From the incredible front staff people to the room we stayed that was spotless and smelled so fresh and clean. The hotel is in a very central location with great food and nightlife outside the front entrance. Not to mention the beach amenity witch allowed easy access to the beach with free umbrellas and beach loungers. make sure to ask for a towel at the front desk, they happily accommodate. The only thing I had issue with was that I had the craft chocolates at Cortes in the lobby. Icould not stop buying them. They were ridiculously good and at $3. a pop, lets just say I could have stayed another night at the Palm Inn. I am happy we chose the Palm Inn again. Thank you

We stayed four nights and five days at the Condado Palm Inn. The room was clean but a little rundown. There was chipped paint on the floor of the bathroom and the shades for one of the windows was non-functional.

The staff was attentive and quickly responded to any requests. Thank you Genesis for checking us out!

It did get quite loud at times as the walls are pretty thin, but to be expected at a hotel in a bustling part of the city.

There is major construction going on right in front of the hotel, which is completely out of their control, but something to note in terms of the noise in the mornings.

Another note, the beach advertised by the hotel was, during our trip, under warning for visitors to not swim. That was a large consideration when we booked and we were unaware we would have to travel elsewhere to swim safely.

Overall, I think it’s worth booking for the price if you’re not too fussy about some minor inconveniences! Walking distance to tons of great restaurants and shops, too!

Nice hotel close to beach and shops/restaurants. Our room was a penthouse suite on top floor. Spectacular view of the ocean……floor to ceiling windows across the entire room. Room could use some lamps in the seating area. Hallway from elevator needs touchup……wallpaper pealing.

Very impressed with receptionist, Carlos. Friendly and very efficient. We rented three rooms for family members arriving at different times at the hotel. Carlos prepared all the room passes with parking key for each guest. As they arrived at the hotel, their room keys (and checkin) were ready for them to go directly to their rooms

The hotel itself is not bad, it is correct but on certain issues leaves much to be desired.
The mere fact that you question whether rooms should be made every day in such a hotel, should already make the management consider its organization. In our case two of the days of our stay, the rooms were not made and had to claim another two days for cleaning.
The pool did not always have towel service available and cleaning left much to be desired.
Breakfast service and beach club, however, were at the expected level.
We are aware that on the first day there was a major storm that disrupted services, however it does not justify that two days later the hotel had not fixed the problems.

The old San Juan cruise docks are probably about a 10 minute cab ride. When we stay here we were embarking on a cruise and our cruise ship docked at the Pan American dock. With traffic it took us 10-15 minutes from the hotel.

No they do not offer free breakfast. The hotel breakfast is $20. They also have a little restaurant in the lobby that serves breakfast. It was better (in my opinion).

Saludos Stephen, hotels in our destination don't offer airport shuttle service, however there are taxis with flat rates per area available at all times at the airport and Uber.

Condado Beach is right there, a 2-5 minute walk from the hotel to the section of beach where their contractor provides umbrellas and towels. No shuttle to San Juan but Ubers are cheap, perhaps $7-8.
