Stayed here after spending a week on a sailboat in the British Virgin Islands. Spent 2 days at hotel. This is a fantastic hotel (albeit a bit expensive) in the heart of Old San Juan. You are within walking distance of the Calle de Cristo (street full of brand name and local shopping), El Morro 15th century Spanish fort, a...

We stayed at Hotel El Convento for one night and had a very pleasant experience. Our room was very nice and it felt like a historic property. The staff were very helpful, professional and welcoming. It has a boutique feel, historic building ambience and modern comfort - exactly what we were hoping to experience. One minor observation which is rather...

Four of us stayed at the El Convento Hotel in adjoining rooms on the 5th floor. We got a great rate booking directly from the hotel's website. The hotel is in the heart of Old San Juan just a few blocks from the Governor's mansion and therefore there was a police presence. It's location allows you to walk anywhere in...

We previously stay in The Gallery Inn which was our first choice for our honeymoon (horrible hotel) and after talking to some local at Bistro Burger they recommend us this hotel. First of all is amazing and charming and our room was properly CLEAN and we received a good customer services unlike our previous hotel. Everything is walking distance, if...

The locations is PERFECT! A walk to every corner of the wonderful Old San Juan is practical from the hotel. If you just want to chill out, the hotel itself provides enough entertainment - from the diversities of restaurants, to the bar, to the Wed wine night. Will definitely be my top choice any time going back to Old San...

Place to stay in old town but it is pricey. Go ahead and splurge! The rooftop wine and cheese was wonderful as well as the service from all the staff. The rooms have character and I loved staying here. Did not eat anything but breakfast and had dessert once so many other choices.

Location of course is absolutely perfect being at the heart of the WORLD HERITAGE Old San Juan. However while the property is itself historical which is charming beyond belief, there are some tired aspects which preclude my giving it the top rating. Air conditioning, so required when the max temp daily is never less than 85f, is rather crude as...

All the wonderful comments you read about the marvelous hotel are true!!!! To write another review would only be redundant of the glowing reviews already stated! But I do have one more comment to convince you even more - when I told a friend I was going to Old San Juan, he told me that he remembered eating dinner at...

We were in Puerto Rico celebrating a firned's 40th birthday. While we did not stay at this hotel we went in the hotel to see the beautiful architecture and history. We stopped at the bar and had a drink. We were lucky enough to run into Luis the head bartender. He was awesome! The drinks were awesome! I was so...

El Convento is an awesome place to stay in Old San Juan. The hotel has so much character and is right in the middle of OSJ with all the major sites within walking distance. We stayed in a room with 2 double beds which was ok but a queen size bed would have been better. Apart from that our stay...
