We stayed 2 nights before our cruise. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of history and the room we stayed in was very comfortable. We chose to stay in Old San Juan based on the recommendation from our travel agent. However, we were a little disappointed with the area as it lacks the night life we were seeking. Don't...

Had lunch here with our two 20 something kids. Great stop in Old San Juan. Gazpacho was excellent as were the club sandwich, chicken wrap and salad. Beautiful place! It was also so beautifully decorated for Christmas. They were open till 3 for lunch. So, perfect stop when the rain came!

Hotel El Convento is right in the center of Old San Juan. My husband and I only spent one night there but adored the hotel and the location. We walked to all sorts of shops and to the fort. It felt so safe everywhere we went, day and night. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel, dinner in the...

We stayed at the Hotel El Convento for 3 nights in December 2013 and had a wonderful experience. We stayed in Room 302. As other reviews have stated, it is a larger room with a King size bed and Spanish doors that lead out to the terrace where the evening reception is held and overlooks the Cathedral. While others may...

Hotel El Convento is in the perfect location. The staff are so hospitable and nice. The courtyard is charming and the small pool on the roof is quaint and just big enough. I don't know if a giant chain owns Convento, but I perceived anyway that I was in an idependant boutique- and I liked that.

The El Convento; what can said that has not already been said? My take is that is unique in it's historic preservation. You will truly love the courtyard and feel of the place. Try to get a room that is not on the north as it faces a street with no view. The pool and afternoon wine and cheese on...

Dear wrmomxg, Thank you for your positive review of Hotel El Convento. I am glad that you mentioned our main courtyard. It was designed and built 362 years ago as a Carmelite Convent. I remember when I first walked into the hotel courtyard and the feeling one gets when seeing it for the first time. Thank you as well for...

Hotel El Convento is situated right in the heart of Old San Juan in an old convent (hence the name). It is typical of a real boutique hotel in that it has the amenities and service of a top notch hotel chain but with tons more character and charm. What really strikes you about this hotel, on entering, is the...

The Hotel El Convento is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It has everything: old-world charm, excellent food, amazing room service, accommodating staff, pristine clean rooms and located in the center of the historic section of San Juan. Don't bother to stay at one of those modern chain hotels. Give yourself a real treat. It's well worth...

I read really good reviews about Hotel El Convento on this site, Book it, and Expedia so I decided this is where we will stay. Well the reviews were absolutely correct. We are...
