Upon arrival I was met by very nice staff. My favorite front desk staff were Kimberly, Tory, Shamari and Daveen who are always there to greet you with smiles and ready to assist in any way they can. Bring your own favorite liquor because the bar liquor is horrible!

When you out the word "Luxury" in the name of your hotel your guests expect just that. This hotel promises much but delivers little. I arrived at 2 pm, and had been travelling since 2 am that morning. Check in time was 3 pm however the room was not available until 4:30 pm. Front desk staff were lovely, but why would the company put them in the situation of having to justify having guests sign important disclaimers which are only available in the Spanish language. I paid to upgrade to a sea view, but what i got was a pool view with a partial sea view. They purport to offer butler service, however the butlers are ill trained and use of the service requires you wait in your room until they bring whatever you request. I requested a pen and paper but was told that due to Covid-19 they no longer provided those items. There is no coffee/tea in the room. I requested a top up of my mini bar, waited in the room for over an hour then went to dinner. When I was in bed at almost 11 pm I heard a knock on my door. I can only assume it was the butler service. The quality of the mattress, pillows and linen were disappointing. One of the elevators on my building block broke down making for extra long waits at the one functioning elevator. The quality of the buffet food was superior and was the highlight of my stay. The a la carte restaurant food is sub par. The staff overall are very friendly but require much more training. I understand that the hotel has only been reopened for a month and that many of the staff are new, but their lack of training is having a negative impact on the quality of service being offered. The food at the pool grill was charred and inedible. Buffet breakfast had mackerel and salt fish with dangerous small and large bones. Dining room staff were unable to answer questions about what ingredients are in the dishes and this is extremely dangerous for those with allergies. Absolutely no social distancing in the Covid-19 testing centre. The beach is no good, you can skip it and stay in the pool.

Firstly can we give a round of applause for our butler Nelson 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾, this man went above and beyond in ensuring our stay was a pleasant one, we love you Nelson 🥰🥰. So let’s start the review, the wait staff 10/10 hands down excellent service. The lobby bartenders 10/10 we had a bartender that always looked out for us I’m so sorry I forgot his name but he is great. The food servers I give 4/10 they were horrible with poor attitudes and the 4 is for the few good ones. The young man that made the pasta is very entertaining and funny. My husband and his brothers had an altercation with Jermaine from the grand pool bar not grand lobby Jermaine ( don’t remember the bar name) was very adamant in not serving them drinks which I took up with a manager and she assured me they would speak to him, hopefully they explained the value of good customer service to him. I will always go back to Bahia nothing will change that.

Police Batch Reunion In all our 33 years of travel our worst experience was that at Bahia Principe Grand where regrettably we decided to spend our reunion this year. From our arrival we observed that 1) All the customer service reps appeared unorganized and confused. 2) They allowed bundling with little or no observation for the existing Covid protocols. 3) There was no welcoming for the party 4) There was no welcome drink and wet face towel 5) There were no adequate parking spaces which was very inconvenient for seniors and disabled. 6) The shuttle carts take eternity to pick up guests. 7) The elevators make loud noises and appear unsafe 8) There are unusually long lines and poorly supervised in the restaurants. 9) Although double occupancy was reserved and confirmed but Hotel only prepared room for single. 10) Although complaints were lodged Customer Service did little or nothing to meet customer’s satisfaction. 11) Wi-fi did not meet expectations as it disconnected regularly. 12) No washcloths were given in rooms. 13) Although double occupancy confirmed, provisions like shower gel, shampoo and lotion were provided for only one guest. 14) The entertainment package was lame and below ones wildest expectations notwithstanding that a package was announced but was not delivered. 15) On checkout armbands were demanded and persons told to leave property without consuming even a morsel as it would attract payment. There is so much more that could be alluded to as a review of our unfortunate experience in comparison to others. The truth is that the ambiance and aesthetics are fortunately exceptional and awesome. All our sour experiences were based upon Human Resource and your deficiencies in relation to customer service and satisfaction hence could be improved in my opinion. Same was exacerbated when Customer Service Manager was communicated with but refused to even consider basic redress. I will not even consider going back to this hotel neither will I recommend it to anyone in fact if I know of same being considered by anyone I will definitely advise them to reconsider. JEC

So much of this resort was a disappointment. The positive was the length and variety of the beach areas. However the sand under the water is sharp and rocky. And security were on the perimeters of the resort including one with a rifle. Not kidding. The rest of the resort was lacking in all aspects. The Butler concept is non-existent. We requested waters and beers daily but they were never delivered. The swim up pool bars are closed as are all restaurants other than the buffet (due to covid). Instead, all dining occurs under a tent next the pool (including the themed restaurants). The buffet served the same boring food each day. The cocktails were all sweet punch drinks, the wines were bland and they only served Red Stripe on tap. The rooms weren't very clean. The service employees were rowdy (amongst themselves) and disruptive to patrons, particularly in the early morning throughout the hallways. I could go on, but I'll simply say that I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for another resort option.
