This is the most unique beautiful piece of vacation heaven. The views are private island-esc, the hammocks along the property are super comfy, the food is 5 star (great fresh lobster, seafood and jerk chicken) and the staff are chill and fun. Great place to make your date feel super isolated from reality. A must see for all island and...

I've stayed twice now at Great Huts for a total of more than three weeks and I can say with full enthusiasm that it is utterly and spectacularly unique. The setting, a camp of forest huts on the cliffs of Boston Bay, is stunningly gorgeous. The huts themselves are beautifully designed and appointed with strange and lovely furnishings such as...

This is a really honest and fair review. Our experience at Great Huts was very mixed... read about the good and bad points below... After reading these rave reviews and seeing the amazing photos my boyfriend and I were really excited to come and stay at Great Huts. Dear All, Here at Great Huts we pride ourselves in providing a rustic yet modern environment where guests can feel safe, well taken care of, relaxed and entertained. As such repairs of the entire property is done periodically and also on an as needed basis. Our rooms are therefore not “run down” as we take rooms off the market solely...

I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Jamaica in the early 80's, and have returned to the island dozens of times since then. I was thrilled to find Great Huts - finally, there's a resort that focuses on authentic Jamaican culture and nature - unlike the bland manufactured tourist experiences at the all -inclusive resorts. This sweet little resort occupies...

it's a crazy and fabulous combination of jamaican art, rustic cottages, cool vibe, Jewish and Rastafarian culture. It sounds a bit odd to me and feels really great! Separate cottages with trails through the property extradoniary view out over the rock cliffs out to sea. Upstairs restaurant served delicious foot and has a tree house feel. If you can't stay...

Port Antonio is one of the last pieces of old Jamaica; the true escape catered by genuine home made hospitality. And it's not about the fancy $700/dollar a night places that are stark and boring but boast sporadic celebrity clientele as a selling point. Greats huts is so original in its beauty, driven by and born out of the nature...

Loved our experience at the Great Huts! Stayed in the Bamboo tree house which had an amazing view. The Staff was excellent! Thanks to Sherlando, Darrien, Chef Clayton, Laura Ann and everyone else who made our stay amazing. The place is a little weathered and a few things need some updating, ( a cushion on our lounger on the deck...

Great Huts Resort is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. My husband and I spent Christmas 2014 at Great Huts. I cannot wait to return. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was beyond delicious. The week we stayed we ate like royalty, partied on the beach with locals, and tried anything anyone suggested to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Great Huts: Paradise on the Edge is an oceanfront resort on the lush northeastern tip of Jamaica. Modeled after a traditional African village, at once both rough-hewn and modern, it is a convergence of nature, heritage, spirituality and technology. Off the beaten path, but not far from the bustle and night life of Boston Bay and Port Antonio, Great Huts' jungle-cliff-beach habitat is a distinctive ecological and cultural experience. The African hut and Amerindian tree-house dwellings studded throughout the meandering, five-acre compound are comfortably furnished and decorated with uncommon African and Jamaican artifacts. ... more   less
