This charming Victorian hotel was built in !881. Queen Elizabeth stayed here twice. It is on Titchfield Hill and has a view of the bay. If you are a fussy tourist that wants a generic chain hotel that looks like anyplace in the world, you will be disappointed. If you are a traveller that prefers unique charm, history, and the...

We spent one night at this place 4 children and 4 adults and paid $17,000JMD for two rooms. Firstly the room and sheets were covered in dust which were changed on request. The bed was old and so were the pillows extremely uncomfortable. The worst situation was when the lights were turned out the children felt something crawling on them...

+ staff is friendly and helpful + rooms are big and clean - You can really hear EVERYTHING throw the walls (Local couple next door stayed up the hole night, so I couldn't sleep at all: 8 hours of talking, tv was screaming and they were having sex). The hole house was empty except us and that couple next door....

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and the experience was very average. The rooms are drab for the price though the beds comfortable. The cheaper rooms (around $30-$40) don't have private bathrooms and the shared bathrooms have only cold water. There are even cheaper rooms out the back that are quite off-putting, more like mini-dungeons. The building was...

This house, built in the late 1800s, is full of Victorian charm. It is located in a peaceful area with little traffic, and is very near to downtown Port Antonio. The owners were wonderful, arranging a last minute raft trip on the Rio Grande and suggesting fun places to eat. The little cafe on the second floor of the "Mall"...

Staying at the DeMonetvin put us right in middle of typical Port Antonio life. Being close to the town centre was great, and the hotel is just the right distance so that you can escape the hustle and bustle. We had a large room with an attached bathroom. No air conditioning, but we prefer this; a modern fan was provided....

There are many good reasons to have a holiday in Jamaica, particularly in Port Antonio, and one of them is the De Montevin Lodge. For a start, it's very beautiful, with charming wrought-iron work, incredibly made in Scotland. But the main thing is the welcoming and friendly owners, George and Karen. They are gradually renovating and decorating the building in...
