I've been to the Whistling Bird 4 times in six years. Each time I've thought it was the best trip I've ever taken. The staff is consistant and beyond friendly. The rooms are nice for that part of the island. Everything is very laid back, and at your own pace. Chef Turner will fix your meal for you and serve...

This was our 3rd trip to Whistling Bird and we have been to Negril several times before that. We have been staying on the beach since we had children (who are now teenagers). I agree that the staff are amazing. They are warm, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the rooms have deteriorated over time and a loud night club moved in...

As I write this I know that I am going to regret letting out the best secret spot on Negril beach. Coming back to our second visit did I realize what I suspected on the first visit, that WB is an oasis in the somewhat crowded area of Negril. With so many things to do just a short walk (or...

The Whistling Bird is not just a place to stay... it's an experience! We just returned from what was voted "Best Family Vacation Ever" - largely due to the magic of The Whistling Bird. The Bird is a quaint "bed and breakfast" style resort - unlike the sanitized world of the "all inclusives." If your looking for an intimate resort...

Have stayed 20 times at WB. Obviously I love the place. The location is the very best on the beach. The landscaping is incredible and I have obviously watched it mature over the years. Our first time there it had only one set of cottages and we stayed in the owners place. We have watched the staff grow over the...

I was at Whistling Bird, around two weeks ago, and I thought the experience was great. We stayed at different places in Negril over the course of ten days, one of which was at the WB. The people who run this place have really strived to make it the best. I always walked through during previous visits, but had not...

My wife and I had our wedding and reception, in April 2006, at the very intimate and friendly Whistling Bird resort in Negril, and it was everything we wanted it to be! We found Jim and the staff to be so personable and helpful, and they made our wedding day something we will never forget. The sun set dramatically behind...

After weeks of researching many, many hotels/resorts in Negril we decided on Whistling Bird because we wanted to experience the people and the culture of Jamaica instead of being stuck at a big resort. We had our wedding of about 24 people at the Whistling Bird in May of 2006. Everything was stress free and went better than we expected....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Beach cottages in a unique enclave. Totally immersed in nature, intensively landscaped. The cottages can be large or small, simple or deluxe. Whistling Bird offers amenities, several are unique. It's a small family business - an UNhotel, yet we have a pretty full slate of service to offer. We can do food and drink, a simple breakfast or dinner for example. What we really like to do is show off fine dining with our five course meal plan of refined Jamaican dishes. ... more   less
