Went with two girlfriends for a long weekend in early June. Airport was an absolute zoo coming into Punta Cana....they really need to work on getting people through faster both leaving and coming to the island. Anyway, the resort is very close to the hotel and the people and service was very good. We had two rooms next to each other with views of the pool and the ocean and balconies. Rooms were clean and I called for housekeeping service each day and they were great about hitting our window. They were also great about leaving bottled waters each day. We thought the food was terrific and the prices very reasonable. The beach has a seaweed issue, but the property tries to handle it and the pool is lovely and not very crowded, so we enjoyed both. We’d definitely come back again.

Other then the disappointment that myself and many other travelers that have to work on vacation voiced regarding WiFi service completely out for over two days (while I was completing a business acquisition), be VERY careful about their billing. We had a last minute cancellation which they guaranteed a full credit if used before June 30th 2021. We rescheduled and were sent notification that the room charge for the new booking was less and we would have room covered and a $301. Then at check out there is a whole discussion about multiple charges and what is not. Then on the plane we receive an e-mail that now says the credit can only be used on incidentals They also changed the room charge to $900 in addition to the original $1041. We originally enjoyed the staff and location enough to overlook the WiFi and had planned a trip back with the entire family but needless to say this will not happen now. Couldn't be more disappointed in the Westin Brand and Punta Cana resort specifically.

I am a Titanium Elite member with Marriott and I love the Westin. My last Westin stay was magnificent in Dublin, Ireland. At home, I have a Heavenly Bed, linens, scent device, candles etc because I love everything Westin. So, coming here for two nights after a week at Secrets Royal Palm Beach is a shock to my system. The internet has been out since I arrived. The rooms are dated. There are no cabanas, restaurant choices, entertainment or traditional hotel amenities. Robes and slippers are available by request. The bathroom has dingy towels and 2 small bars of the Westin soap, a small tube of shampoo, conditioner and a lotion. They can't even be bothered to have shower gel. The bed is not a Heavenly bed and the linens are worn. Next time I won't opt for BonVoy to collect a few extra nights in my account. I have 65 nights this year in spite of COVID and I regret that I spent any time here. I have the all inclusive rate which is supposed to come with breakfast, lunch and a four course dinner. It’s impossible to access the menu because the internet has been out. But, the lunch and dinner menu are the same and there are not four courses. At breakfast while waiting for an omelette, a woman walked in behind me after I’d been waiting and the cook took her order and treated me like I was invisible. There is disappointment at every turn. They offer a free shuttle to a mall but when you get to the mall you are informed that you must visit stores and collect stamps to earn your ride. For me the last straw is the mini bar in the room. It has snacks that wouldn’t normally be in the refrigerator like candy bars, Pringles and non perishables. Today someone locked it which is just insulting. This Westin reminds me of Cuba. Marriott Bonvoy should review this hotel because it is not worthy of the brand.

I just stayed at the Westin Punta Cana. The Beach was beautiful, the hotel a little dated. The people are nice but they lack training. In the Beach restaurant the food is ok not great, and the waiters have to be asked multiple times for drinks etc. We made reservations for la Yola Restaurant. They told us that the bell boy will take us to the restaurant as is in Punta Cana but at a different site outside the resort. We were ready for our reservation and went to the reception person al told him we were ready. He said no problem I will tell the bell boy to take you. 15 minutes after nothing. It seems he forgot. I went and asked him what happened and his answer was. It’s the bell boy not me that it’s taking you. I said. I talked with you not the bell boy. You do work here right? Then we were taken to the restaurant. The bell boy was flying in the Van. My wife had to ask him to slow down. He wasn’t happy either. I am Marriott Gold member so I constantly stay at Marriott’s and Westin’s. Maybe I have higher expectations. La Yola Restaurant is amazing! Amazing place in front of the sea. Great ambiance and great food! That was the highlight of our stay.

I have been to this resort 4 times since January 2021. The staff and management are the best. Marriott is a great company. The rooms are great, very clean, and have great views. The beach is perfect. You can get a COVID test right at the on-site medical office. The food, service, and housekeeping are excellent ! Thank you! Mucho Gracias para excelente servicio!
