Their last hurricane was 2004. They have had a number of wicked wind storms since then.Are you going early September or late? The end of September is basically the beginning of their rainy season. It's 50/50 you'll get nothing but sunshine or you may get rain every day. Sometimes all day, sometimes five or six times throughout the day and some days just for two minutes. The cheapest time to go there is September, October & November and that's because the weather is a crap shoot that time of year. I've been there that time of year and had great weather and other times, nothing but rain and overcast. Good Luck!

You have nothing to worry about. I've been to the DR fifteen times and have never had an issue. You'll enjoy the resort as well. I've been there twice and had a wonderful time. It's much safer than Mexico.
