Resort is ridiculous

Fee for internet for each phone $45 is just too much

Where local small resort free router in your room to stream 2 movies is the norm….

Beach garbage cans not emptied in 2 weeks we were there

Wind blowing the plastic cans and garbage everywhere

Food was only good in 2 restaurants

Rest was just mediocre

Staff not trained. Not know tge difference between deposit for umbrella or pay for umbrella

Map of the resort same as we had 20 years ago just terrible

No cart rentals allowed?

But if good map was present it could have saved a day or two of misery

High pressure sales manager was actually rude.

Other restaurant staff arrogant not realizing custumers not familiar with the process should not give rude attitude to clients.

Ac system old Bedrooms no screen on windows

So could not leave window open at night mosquito issues.

Only one TV

In living room should have TV in bedroom also

Rainy days are tough with only one TV.

Old people like us need to sleep separately

Not having a couch witch folds out is a pain

Couch was painful to sit on on rainy days for any length of time

Julie please chime in anything I missed?

Tibor

978-987-9402

Also pools are not used as music is so loud No one wants to be in some of the pools

Try to book excursions not possible with music so loud it was painful to try to understand staff.

DR not recycling is horrible

Your experience at this resort will change a lot depending on a number of factors. We stayed for a week with our family and a couple others . Out of a total of 11 of us, 8 of us got sick at some point with stomach issues. In each case it cleared after 24 hours, but it seemed like we were dealing with a person not feeling well every day we were there. In talking to others staying at the resort, our experience was not at all isolated. The resort itself appears clean and they seem to take necessary precautions at the buffets and restaurants (that we can see), yet something is not working.
The complex itself is sprawling. It is composed of many different 'resorts' all sharing a huge property under the Life Styles umbrella. We stayed at the Residence Suites which is definitely on the lower end of the spectrum compared to other properties in the complex. It was a bit dated, but everything worked fine. It worked for what we needed, however, we had friends staying at the Presidents Suites and there was a huge difference in comfort and space compared to their room.
Shuttles connect all the different places you can eat and hang out. Walking was fine for us, however most people rode the shuttle or golf carts. The golf carts are all over the place and have gas engines. They sound and smell like go-carts and in my opinion take away from the beauty of the place. There are many options for beaches and pools to hang out at, although as a non-member of the Life-Styles vacation resort only about half were open to us. While that left still plenty of options, many nicer place will be off limits.
The food was a mixed bag too. In the beginning of our stay I found the buffets to be quite decent, but by the end of the vacation it was a little tiresome. Although there are three buffets, they are not that much different from each other. There are also a number of restaurants on the property you can make reservations for. Staying at the Residence Suites only allowed us to book reservations on half the nights. The restaurant food wasn't much better than the buffet food in my opinion, but was good for changing things up a bit.
The excursions were good. Ocean World was excellent and very close by. The Waterfall's hike was a lot of fun (not for kids though).
Overall, I am happy we went, but probably wouldn't go back. The property is beautiful and safe but there are too many other places to explore and you definitely feel like a second class citizen coming from RCI.

While it was a nice place for where we were, we will never go back to another LHVC property again. The actual workers there are great and helpful, Jordi at the front desk of the Residence area gets all the stars for being helpful and switched us right away to the room that was pictured, not what we got. The original room they put us in was so old and had paint chips in the tub from it peeling. Wouldn't pay money to stay in that room, but the ones you see pictures of are decent and it met all our needs. If you love being hassled by people while you are sitting at the pool or in their beach areas then this is your place! You will have countless people from the spa trying to sell you on a massage and will wait outside of your room to get you, and the LHVC people will approach you at breakfast or wherever trying to get you to go on a tour to buy into their timeshare. None of them, as we called them Vultures, will take no for an answer. And they know you and will continue to approach you until you say yes so if you say no to one, doesn't matter because more are coming. As a timeshare member you do not get access to the entire resort, you only get certain restaurants, pools and beach areas so keep that in mind when booking. We didn't know this until the day before we left which was a disappointment. There also is no real beach area so if you want to lay out and enjoy beach time you have to go somewhere else. The cabanas off the beach are nice and have sand and mini pools but not quite the same as laying directly on the beach. The beach also closes at 6 so no nightly strolls or sunset walks can be had. The nightly show is great so I highly recommend that but since it was low season all the activities were basically non-existent since no one was there to do them. So for us the only thing to do from dinner until the 9:30pm show was the casino which was a bummer. The communication at the resort was okay but frustrating at times. Everyone seems to tell you something different so if you can, just talk to your main person at the front desk. The food was all very good and you can eat at a different restaurant every night which was great. Make sure you make the reservations for each night the day you get in so you don't have to do the buffet unless you prefer that. Lunch and breakfast is buffet only but it is decent and the pizza is very good. And for my coffee people, they do not have creamer so if you like that you will need to bring some from home.

Our family enjoyed a very relaxing stay at the Lifestyle Crown Residence Suites. After reading some negative reviews, we were a bit worried but our fears were put to rest as we entered the resort. We were greeted warmly at the reception desk, our bags were promptly delivered by Melbing, who was a delight throughout our stay. Everything was explained regarding how to move around the resort, which options we had for meals and beaches, nightly entertainment, etc. Our RCI concierge, Ms. Joanna, was wonderful assisting us to make dinner reservations. We were able to try a different restaurant each night and had a hard time deciding which dinner was the best since they were all outstanding! Our suite was recently renovated and many suites were undergoing renovation while we were there, yet we were not disturbed with noise. Our room was comfortable with two king beds, small kitchen, nice comfortable sofa with plenty of seating, and an outdoor patio overlooking the terraces and pool which were just outside our door. Any need we had, such as more water or towels, was promptly met. The grounds and pools were continuously cleaned and maintained, shuttle service was prompt whenever we needed a lift to another area of the resort. While the resort is walkable, it can be alot of walking so we alternated between walking and riding. While our vision of lounging on the beach and going in the water was a bit different, we had a large beach seating area overlooking the water with a narrow beach and red flags during our stay. It was easy to grab chairs or beach beds and beautiful to overlook the waves and water and relax. We traveled with our young adult daughters whose vision was to soak up the sun and this was the perfect location for that. We took one day excursion on the cable car/Puerto Plata and highly recommend. Multiple other tours are available but a broken foot kept us mostly at the resort. We felt safe at all times and the staff everywhere was exceptional. Next time, we would pack umbrellas or rain ponchos as we learned it was rainy season and the rain did come and go a few days with sunshine in between. We did this as an RCI trade at an exceptional all inclusive special and considered this a great value for the exceptional vacation we had. And yes, this is a selling resort so we were approached to pick up our "welcome" gift. When we firmly stated we absolutely were not interested in touring and purchasing, we met with no resistance and were on our way.

The resort area is huge. There are plenty of restaurants and food options at their buffets. The part of the resort we stayed at was the residence suites which was a quite area perfect for relaxation and not crowded or loud at all. If you want the music, shows and entertainment and more people you have to take the shuttle bus that takes you around the resort, and passes by every 10 or 15 min every day. We learned the route pretty quickly and sometimes just walked to the other parts of the resort. This particular area of the resort didn't have a restaurant, but it does have pools that we always well maintain, and not crowded at all. which it was good because the other ones had way too many people. There are bars every where where there is a pool and beach area. I would recommend to bring tip money that you can place by the cooks counter, it doesn't hurt to give a few dollars or pesos since the service is excellent, and even though is not required, is nice to tip. The beach on this resort was not the best i have seen, but it was nice. We visited other areas in Puerto Plata and the surrender areas that had beautiful beaches. So take tours if you want to experience

We were very disappointed with our stay. We choose this resort because of what they advertised and how the pictures looked. Unfortunately, it was the opposite, be careful on the all-inclusive because we booked through RCI they said we were limited to what the all-inclusive included like our kids not being able to go to the waffle house or the ice cream parlor. The 2 bedrooms states they will sleep 6 (2 beds and a sofa couch) this is also incorrect. the sofa was a concrete bench with a cushion. 2 bedrooms only sleeps 4, while the other room had a single roll away bed in the middle of the living room. There was also tiny bugs throughout the rooms, not very comforting. You are limited to the beaches, dining areas and other areas you can enter, several of them are for "Members or Owners Only". You will not get golf carts as we were told we were going to get to travel around the resort! One of the swim up pool bars was very low on water. The front desk said there wasnt a problem but everyday the level was dropping to the point that we couldnt even use the pool. The photographs of steak and lobster dinners wont happen, they dont even have lobster! The steak house is not all you can eat, you get to eat at that particular restaurant one night during your stay. There is no real sushi bar, only what appeared to be the store bought sushi packs and they were terrible. Point blank this resort was false advertising. The RCI concierge at the resort, Fanny, was no help at all. The all inclusive company that you go through for this resort is a joke also. You cant get a call back from anyone to try and get help!! You have already paid for the trip and are in another country, Nobody seemed to care that we werent getting what we paid for, Bad business all around.

My experience was Very Good . In the case of the rooms, the beds are very comfortable, cleaning in the rooms every day, a stocked refrigerator, always clean towels, hot water, well-functioning air, beautiful views.
We love The Garden at Résidence Suites Area.

The resort is fine if you are a lifestyle holiday vacation club owner but if you’re not, don’t waste your time or money going to this resort. Non members are only allowed to use certain beaches, pools and restaurants which are not the best. The restaurants that we were allowed to use were not great. VIP members had the best of the best.
Non members also have to take a shuttle to move around the property and shuttles are always full and have long wait lines. Shuttles don’t come around often so prepare for a 20-30 min wait time for a shuttle. Golf carts are not available to non vacation club members which is not fair to timeshare owners of other resorts.
This was the worst vacation experience we’ve had. The resort staff was very pleasant and very nice but because of the resort rules and restrictions they could only do so much to help.

The staff at the Residence are extremely helpful in particular the RCI consierge Ms Joanna Reynoso. I was surprisingly happy with the room, staff and overall, the buffet restaurants. The only thing I can find where they can improve is on having room service at least late at night.

Also the Pilon Restaurant needs to either be a Dominican Restaurant or closed down. The menu at this restaurant is far from what is expected of a Dominican Restaurant.

This resort is on a steep hill. The walk from our room was extremely long. After the long hilly walk we took a shuttle to where we had dinner. Food was fair. The staff at the front was no help. I hurt my knee and they could not help with a wheelchair or golf cart. We were told several times that we needed to be a "club member" to get any of these services. When asked how we could bring food to the room there was no way.

The Wifi is $45 per week or $7 per hour, its absoulutely garbage do not get it. Theres no good WIFI anywhere, Don't waste your time, get the $12 a day from your USA or Canada carrier, and its still not that great. If you've planned your trip there don't go. From the minute your there, you will be judged by your wristband which if its not vip, or better, meaning gold, black, or white, you will get nothing, no golf cart, no ice cream, no normal liquor, you will be fed a liquor named Bacanal, which is Dominican Brewed Liquor, absolutely junk, only Presidente beer, no Coors, no Corona, no name brand anything, the buffets are very poor, you will get a choice of 3 restaurants on site, but they will all be full, you will be treated like 8th class, if you dont spend $65K-350K usd to buy there vacation program, you are garbage. I just got back Decembrer 29th 2024.
