First of all, I will start by saying that this is by no means in Roseau, as the listing suggests. If you were looking for accommodation in Roseau I think you would be surprised to find yourself a long way from town. The location is the tiny village of Laudat, a wonderfully peaceful place with views over the lush, rainforest-covered... More

This hotel is in a great position for hiking, with several trails available without transport. Our room was very pleasant with a balcony that commanded a good view. The en-suite facilities were a little cramped and not particularly well fitted - everything worked, but was not easy to use. On the other hand the food was excellent, with a buffet... More

This family run B&B is ideally located for local walks and the trek to boiling lake. The rooms are variable, some of them in need of lot of attention, others were well presented. The beds were quite small in the double rooms. Some of the staff, particularly Maria, were very friendly and helpful. All the kitchen staff were keen to... More

If you want to do the famous Boiling Lake hike or go see the Boeri Lake, Freshwater Lake and Middleham Falls - stay at Roxy’s Mountain Lodge in the village of Laudat. This unique and charming lodge is a MUST since it gives you an idea of how things probably should be - and used to be. Just try and... More

If you've been hiking up to Boiling Lake, Freshwater Lake, Boeri Lake or Middleham falls then you'll appreciate the wholesome food that Roxy's provides - plenty of it and well-cooked. The start of the first three trails, as well as Titou Gorge can be reached easily on foot from the door of the lodge - Middleham will require transport. The... More

I can't say enough good things about Roxy's. The staff was amazing, the food: excellent, the service was impeccable. While there, another guest went to the beach and got REALLY drunk - to the point he lost his wallet, keys, etc... he called Roxy and in the middle of the night, the owner went to the beach in Roseau and... It is very quiet when we arrived at Roxy's on the bus (go to Valley Road in Roseau and ask for Reds – he is the owner/driver). We find the owner asleep in front of the television in the lounge. Gently we wake him and get our key. Room 15 is a lovely corner double en suite room on the... More

I spent two nights here as part of a tour of the island. It is plain and simple, rooms are quite dark. Evening meals are cooked here, there is nowhere else near to eat, they are quite good but expensive for what you get. It is very much up in the hills, so if you are not mad keen on... More

Roxy's has a Swiss ski chalet look about it inside and out, which seems a little out of place in Dominica. Nevertheless it's clean and comfortable. You're well away from Roseau, which is great. The best thing about Roxy's is that you can get to Boiling Lake and places in the park from here. Food is adequate.

It's a bit of a long haul to get here from Roseau over steep, narrow, and twisty roads, but if you enjoy hiking it is absolutely worth it. Roxy's is within easy walking or driving distance of some of Dominica's most popular trails, including the Boiling Lake, Titou Gorge, the Freshwater and Boeri Lakes, and Middleham Falls. And the setting... More
