We really had a wonderful time at Carlos' place right in the center of Santiago. The room was clean, spacious and included an AC. Carlos himself speaks perfect (!!!) English and was extremely helpful in both sorting out our travel arrangements as well as explaining the Cuban way of life :-) The best feature of his Casa is the amazing...

The room was large and clean and the Casa comes with an amazing roofterrace which has been beautifully arranged by Carlos and his Family. Carlos really made our stay in Santiago worthwile by supporting activities, making awesome mojitos and generally being extremely friendly, he even surprised my girlfriend with a birthday cake! If we ever go back to Santiago we...

We stayed at the house of Don Carlos in January 2017 and had a good experience! Carlos is a very helpful and nice person! His wife is also very kind. The house has a beautiful terrace where it is possible to eat a great breakfast. The location is perfect, extremely central. It's possible to do everything on foot. On my...

Great casa and Great Family!. We stayed for 3 nights in Casa Don Carlos. We had an excellent time there. We are missing our breakfast in the terrace every morning and our dinners looking the stars, great food!. The terrace is a fantastic place to chill out after the frenetic live in Santiago streets. We were travelling with our two...

We (group of 4) stayed here at the end of June 2016 for 1 night. Carlos, the owner, was extremely helpful, accommodating and gave useful advice about where to visit. Rooms were fairly standard for Cuba (+nice bathroom) and breakfast was good. Close to all the sites to visit in Santiago.

After we discovered that another casa that had been recommended to us was underwhelming, my girlfriend and I checked Tripadvisor and went for a top-rated casa that turned out to be full, but nextdoor to Don Carlos. We stayed for two nights and paid a mere 20 CUC/night without breakfast. We can confirm that the casa is located perfectly for...

We arrived with high expectations as we had been booked into another casa for 9 nights but on arrival there was no room there. We had to be let in by another guest as the owner was upstairs. She showed us round and we were able to choose a room see photo. This was the best of the few available...

Very central location - just a few blocks to the main square. Nice and very clean rooms - breakfast is served on a large roof terrace. Carlos is very knowledgable about Santiago and is happy to share his knowledge. He was extremely helpful when we had forgotten a camera in a casa in Cienfuegos. He went there, picked it up...

My friend, Patrick and myself were touring Santiago de Cuba in the spirit of Patrick's 70th birthday and stayed at Don Carlos for 3 days. Excellent casa. Very helpful that Carlos spoke several languages (my Spanish is limited, at best) and he was able to make recommendations throughout the town for restaurants, etc. The best part was the the rooftop...

Carlos and his family are the best thing about this casa, and they were great hosts. It was very helpful to be able to talk with Cubans with such good English, as our Spanish was rudimentary. They were very sociable which made eating in good fun. Our room gave onto the communal courtyard [others onto the living areas] as they...
