We arrived at the hotel after driving 400k from Holguin along the coast road - an awesome "must do" trip. Rooms OK, we only used the breakfast joint which was passable. Frankly the place was a bit pricey at E130/night but it came with free secure parking - a definite plus. As normal in Cuba the staff were all giving...

I am really unsure how to rate this hotel. In Cuban terms the rooms were bigger than we had been used to, the restaurants had a much wider choice of food etc. BUT we were in Cuba and this hotel could be anywhere. The wide choice of food was let down by the quality and for dinner and breakfast the...

We arrived at the Melia Santiago at about 22.30, tired and disorientated but we soon recovered after two Havana Rum and lemon gasiosa´s. We received a warm welcome from the reception staff, there was live music playing in the bar & some of the waitresses were moving to the music. When we got to our room it was nicely furnished...

The Melia Santiago is a very nice Cuban hotel, fairly modern, and with great views from its hilltop location. It's large with many rooms on 12(?) stories. It serves a couple hundred people breakfast each morning at a large buffet. Nice pastries, made to order omelets and eggs, and a great selection of fresh fruit. I enjoy eyed live piano...

This is a good European quality hotel with all the facilities and service you'd expect - but - it's out of the centre and there's nowhere to walk nearby. Rooms are good, what you'd expect, and the buffet meals are extensive.
