We did not stay at the hotel but after roaming the busy , noisy , diesel fumed streets around Parque Cesperdes it was great to get the lift up to the roof bar of the Casa Granda for a cocktail & snack at reasonable prices with suprisingly good service .

So this isn't going to be a proper review as I was never a guest of this hotel. Instead I stayed at another hotel around the corner (Hotel Imperial e - same company). The imperial lacks WiFi which the Casa Granda does not, hence my multiple visits! I really enjoyed the open air cafe on the terrace. It was very...

We stayed here on 2 separate occasions before and after our trip to Baracoa. The first time we had a room on the 2nd floor and as others have noted the once grand bedroom are now looking tired. The bed was comfortable enough, the bathroom functionaland the water hot. It was, however, extremely noisy as it overlooked the main square...

Dear ISABEL DITCHFIELD It has been a real pleasure to receive your comments through a site of recommendation so important and so well known and accepted by the world. We appreciated the valuation that I made on your first stay in room 204 of our second floor in terms of comfort, referring to the quality of the dream, remember that...

This hotel was clearly grand once but our room was certainly tired. We had to put sticky tape on the light switch to keep the main light on and the curtains were very old and shabby. The a/c was so noisy - at first we thought there were workmen in the next room - that we had to turn it...

Excellant location for this old hotel where the rooms are tired. Rooftop panorama and bar excellant location, breakfast good standard. Internet hotspot on ground bar/restaurant area or in adjacant square. Location justifies the rooms

The hotel was lovely, we had a junior suite which overlooked the square, the room was large and the bed comfortable the bathroom was clean if a bit dated. We preferred the bar downstairs as we could sit and look over to the square and we found the staff far friendly downstairs than up on the roof terrace. It was noisy...

Mr. Boggy Have a good afternoon first and grateful, for your opportune commentary, I enjoy the fullness of all our services and I value the life in the city. It refers to details such as the case of the siege, which the hotel can control from the stairs inwards, is an evil that overwhelms our customers and prevents the full...

We arrived in Santiago de Cuba on 03/14/17 from the ship Adonia. We had only ONE day in the city. I had read other reviews from World Travelers about sitting on the roof terrace of the hotel that over looked the city. After reading other reviews I knew this was something we had to do! We had a group of...

So here's the thing... To get the very most out of this historic old gem, you need to see everything at the Casa Granda through rose tinted spectacles. I have tried really hard to justify giving this hotel an extra star! But where they shone in a couple of areas, they were really poor in others. Ok let's start with...

When you want to judge an hotel, you need always to consider where you are. So, you do not expect the "western standard" in Santiago de Cuba PRO - The location is excellent, just walking distance from almost everywhere, including the Moncada and the harbor - The atmosphere.
