I booked Treasure Beach hotel for 3 nights while we were getting our second covid test and waited for our results because they said we could use the pool and would not be isolated in our room. Francois at front desk was so efficient pre arrival and arranged our tests for us in advance. I informed him it was my husband’s 60th birthday while we were there and he arranged a complimentary bottle of wine for us too. When we got to the hotel they told us we were upgraded to The House hotel. Happy days. What a lovely boutique hotel. The beachfront rooms were large with a separate living area and beautiful bathroom with lovely toiletries. The bed was so comfortable one of the best beds I’ve had in a hotel. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, Agnes was delightful. We had our second test at 8am the morning after we arrived and the results arrived that same evening! The only negative is the pool is quite small but the hotel is right on the beach and the sea is gorgeous so it didn’t matter. The food choice was a bit limited because the hotel had only opened a few days before as an overflow from Treasure Beach but the super service we got more than made up for that. We had a takeaway delivered the second night we were there as we were only on bed & breakfast so it didn’t matter. We moved after the 3 nights we had booked but I was sorry to leave. I would be very happy to stay there again if we go to Barbados.

Our flight was delayed so we did not arrive until dusk. There are no signs , just a gate that opened to reveal a wooden bridge across a large pond, lit by flaming torches. As you exit the taxi you are personally greeted with the phrase, Welcome Home. Because it was dusk there was recessed lighting in the floor that lead your eye down the few steps through the lounge and straight into the sunset. There is no reception, an Ambassador brings you a glass of champagne while you take in the views before taking you to your room, which was huge, 2 bathrooms, 2 walk in wardrobes, 2 balconies, large lounge area - and views across the Caribbean. Breakfast, with champagne, is superb, excellent choice, again with sea view. The Ambassadors are very friendly and attentive but without being obtrusive. The hotel exceeds at the little touches, sun cream available by the beach, cleaning your sunglasses, bringing round bottles of cold water, icecream (with rum) and fresh fruit, not forgetting the cream teas with scones, jam and Cornish clotted cream. Whatever you need the Ambassadors can arrange. Whist the hotel does not have a restaurant you can dine on the torch lit terrace and have dinner served from Daphne's next door, and if you are lucky, so can dine and watch the turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs . It is very tempting just to lay back and be pampered 24/7 but hire a car and see the rest of Barbados, little coves and long deserted beaches on the Atlantic side, but it was always good to get back to the House.

There are signs of this property getting a bit tired...we new this before we went. ...However, what a great time we had. So relaxed, and the ambassador principle will only work if they are all up for it...they certainly are. Brilliant location and ambassadors will organise return taxi to all the renowned restaurants...literally within minutes.. Would We return ?....absolutely.

One of the top three hotels and we have stayed in many hotels all over the world. The staff are the best you can find. The amenities are terrific. We loved the breakfasts and the afternoon tea. The cold fruit, bottled water, cold cloths and ice cream sundaes brought to you at the beach are outrageously delicious. Rooms were comfortable and dinners were very good. We also had excellent dinners at Zaccios and Caribe.

We have been at Sandy Lane in the past, but wanted to experience a new property. The House is quiet and intimate, and the Ambassador program is exceptional. Every staff member is trained to assist with dinner reservations, taxis, outings, and general questions about Barbados. There is no need for a concierge as the ambassadors can take care of all of your needs. The personal service is unmatched- while on the beautiful beach, staff members come by with bottles of water, fresh fruit, and ice cream, and periodically clean your glasses and brush sand from your lounge chair, all with a smile! Everyone is very friendly and they learn your name and your preferences quickly. We had the true Caribbean experience at The House, unlike Sandy Lane, which can feel a bit like staying at a museum with all of the marble and fountains( not to mention crowded). Afternoon tea is complementary and very enjoyable, as well as evening canapés. Daphnes Italian restaurant next door, provides all meals and is very good. We can't wait to return to The House!
