We stayed at Elbow beach 2 weeks ago and the entire family absolutely loved it. Despite it being off season, the majority of facilities were open (apart from the beach bar which was being renovated but this was not an issue). The facilities were great...More

Waited 35 years for a trip to Bermuda. It is an amazing island. If the food wasn't so expensive, I'd go back in a heart beat. Told them is was my 60th birthday and I got a happy birthday when we checked in, but that...More

Firstly, the service was amazing. Golf carts available 24/7 for guests and the best front desk and bell persons. Moreover, the beach was the clearest and most prestine beach that we’ve ever seen! The hotel is very family oriented and we enjoyed bonding with families...More

The beatiful main structure of the hotel is closed for renovation, and all guest rooms are casitas located on the rolling grounds by the lovely sea. The rooms have charm but are dated and need better amenities. There is snorkelling available beachside, but a distant...More

I’ve stayed at the Elbow three times, and have been to Bermuda 7 times. My teenage daughter and I just got back from a quick spring break tennis getaway. The Elbow is our go to place for several reasons: 1) It’s not crazy hectic like the Southampton Princess, 2) it’s right on the beach, 3) there are five tennis courts on property, 4) it has three restaurants, 5) there is live music a couple of nights a week, 6) they have a workout center, 7) It is centrally located to Hamilton (only a 10 minute cab ride), 8) and the staff is wonderful. The Elbow does have a kids club, but my children are WAY too old to participate. Many families come to the Elbow year after year. I stayed at the Southampton Princess many years ago, and one of the days we were in Bermuda it poured like crazy. We took a cab ride over to the Southampton because I wanted to check it out again. The difference is that it is HUGE—it feels more like a corporate getaway than something for the family. I don’t know how many restaurants they have, but they have quite a few. They do have a kids club at the Southampton, but I couldn’t tell you what it’s like. There are several shops located on site that are pretty much what you would find in Hamilton, but I did see a room next to one of the shops that looked like a kids club type room. You would have to take a shuttle down to the beach because it’s not really in walking distance. Your cab ride to Hamilton would also be a little bit longer. Your best bet is to call both hotels to see if they offer babysitting and if they can accommodate a 20 month old in a kids club. Your child might be too young. The Belmont is also a nice hotel, but I couldn’t tell you if they offer a kids club or babysitting. It’s a little further out, and they are not right on the beach. Bermuda doesn’t disappoint.
