Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Overall, the resort was great. The buffet food was decent. However, the food and the alcohol were separated. For example, there was no food available at the swim up bar or around the pools. And there was no alcohol except beer and wine at dining places. It seems that if people are going to be drinking that having food around would be a good idea. Deserts in general could use a complete overhaul. The best desert at the resort was the slushie machine at the bar. Room service had 3 items. So it's not exactly room service. I stayed in the villas. This was a free standing unit (not the high rise). It was 3 floors and there was no elevator. Yikes. It was kind of like we were staying at the resort next door. The rooms were dated and lacked privacy (bathtub and shower without any privacy, so not ideal for friends sharing a room). The views were outstanding. I visited one of the rooms in the high rise and they appeared to be a lot nicer and updated. The aerobics in the pool and and the general vibe of the place was very nice.

Hotel's Favourite
We checked in as soon as we arrived at the hotel (on time). We requested a room with 2 beds as I travelled with my mom. Very pleased with the room. They have renovated the rooms with new flooring and renovated the bathrooms with huge rain shower and "telephone" shower head too. Double sink with plenty of space to put all my toiletries was a bonus. Linens were fresh and white. I spray down every hotel room with rubbing alcohol to kill germs and bring out any bed bugs. This room was very clean with no bugs at all!!!☺ Plenty of closet space and drawer space. I was able to completely unpack (8 days) Great balcony with chairs, table and a rack to hang our wet bathing suits (great touch). I always bring LARGE clothes pins so the rack was perfect. 8th floor had a glorious view of the ocean. Although they are building right next door, we did not hear any noise at all. Bed was comfortable. Pillows (4 per bed) were comfortable. They had a blanket available which we used. I like a cold room with a blanket. Maid service in the rooms was exceptional. I tipped our lady daily and our room was serviced while we were at breakfast every morning. We only eat at the buffets. We were here in Feb 2020 and the food was amazing then and amazing once again. I love the selection - there really is something for everyone. We also ate next door at the Rui Palace as they offer outdoor seating for breakfast. Both buffets were above average. Great options for foodies and for the pickiest of eaters. They had fresh sushi on 2 of the nights, with tuna and salmon. The service at the buffets was good. Our wine glasses were always full. The palapa situation is better now, as you must wake up at 6am and go down to get a palapa. You can't put your bag from the night before. I would have happily paid $20 a day for a guaranteed palapa so I could sleep in. THIS WAS THE ONLY NEGATIVE thing about this resort. Beach towels always available, thick, fluffy and blue. Paola at the towel hut is charming and always smiling. The alcohol was excellent. For an all inclusive, the drink selection was excellent. Their cocktails are also really yummy and strong. The rose is white zinfadel, which is not my favourite but so what, I switched to white wine, which was great. If you prefer a higher end alcohol, go to the lobby bar. SUGGESTIONS FOR ARUBA: 1. Bring large clothes pins. There is always a breeze in Aruba and your towels will not stay put on your beach chair. 2. Bring a water bottle and re-usable, covered drinkware. The bartenders are happy to make your drink in your own cup. This way you don't get any sand in your drink and it stays cold. I honestly love this resort. My favourite thing is the mimosa and bloody Mary bar at breakfast. And their sparkling wine is cava, so it's dry and delicious. Greatest value for your money in Aruba resorts.

Beautiful, great relaxing time. Housekeeping could be better. Days where we had no towels, washcloths or tp had to call front desk. The floor in our room was not always swept - sandy! Overall the resort was great! Good food, drinks and location. We would recommend. We ♥️ Aruba

PRE-CHECK-IN: What could have been a disastrous check-in was made stress free by Nigel at the front desk. American Airlines didn’t book the room and we didn’t have a reservation upon arrival. Nigel explained what could have gone wrong and made sure we were fine throughout the process. His customer service was exceptional and he went above and beyond. CHECK-IN: Madd stress free thanks to Nigel RIU STAY: Relaxing the staff at the front desk as well as bar and wait staff were very nice and very helpful. We had a nice room and the view was only a side ocean view with full views of construction going on but for the most part no issues. Do take an insulated drink cup/water bottle to have the bartender put your drinks in because the cups at the poolside bars are very small. Claiming your beach chairs first thing in the morning is all true if you want a good spot. ACTIVITIES: Some activities were included with the stay but walk the path that connects the hotels if you want to compare prices. Not all prices or times are the same at the different vendors. We did the De Palm UTV tour and it was fun but very bumpy and dusty ride. My 21 year old loved it! Our tour guide “The Denzel of Aruba” was really good and keeping us together and explaining the history. My sister got a massage and facial at the spa and loved it. WOULD I RETURN: YES and I would still do an all inclusive but I would try another hotel just to get a different experience. The adults only vibe is a little too chill for me. The Riu next door maybe an option.

Shortly into our two week stay we encountered two black cats roaming at the small pool & inside the steak house. We went to management & spoke to PR Manager Alejandro Caro. I told him I have an extreme phobia of cats and was petrified. He was well aware that they lived there and was unsympathetic of my fear. He said there would be nothing done in regards to the cats. It was very disappointing to see that management have no empathy for mental health. This certainly ruined the rest of our trip. We avoided the small pool, steak house, & the PR manager that never spoke to us again, & made sure to never look our way. We will not return to this resort, but will certainly warn others of our problems with the cats & rude management.

Staff are generally professional and well trained, excellent service. Hotel grounds and rooms are maintained to a spotless level of cleanliness. Good variety of food and drink, though Atlantis restaurant buffet guest flow could be improved/modernized with a new layout as lineups can get very long. Besides that, easy access to a very good beach, and a well-sized pool area with ample seating and helpful staff. Only issue was hotel does not provide nor could order distilled water for delivery, which a member of our group needed for their medical CPAP machine. Though there is a large supermarket a short drive away, so we were able to go get some.

Value is lower due to quality of food. Meat was very tough. Good breakfast. Sleep was terrible-construction started at 6:30am!! Bed needed a new mattress, springs were shot. Bathroom needed a table or counter space. No place to put brush, shaver, cologne, deodorant, makeup, ect. Placed all that on table in bedroom. Entertainment was marginal
