Everyone has different expectations for their vacations and holidays. My wife and I travel at least once a year to a Caribbean destination. We have stayed at three Sandals resorts; St. Lucia, Jamaica, and Antigua. All three were very satisfying. I believe St. Lucia Sandals Grande was the nicest. We stayed at the Antigua property in early April 2018. We had a room, at my request, on the ground level in the Caribbean Village. Actually in the Frangipanni Building.
It was a great room. Lovely accommodations, fully stocked bar, spacious bathroom. We were no more than 25 feet from the pool and no more than 100 feet from the wall accessing the sea. There was a guard on duty 24 hours a day - only to dissuade non Sandals guests from entering the grounds to use the facilities.
Some restaurants are better than others for dinner. But breakfast and lunches were always very good. Some people might expect five star dining 24 hours a day for the price of a week at a Sandals resort. That is unrealistic. If you want five star dining for every meal then you should consider staying in a private villa with an accomplished chef.
