I booked the Jodipati Hotel through Agoda and arrived late due to a delayed flight from Jakarta. We arrived about 9.pm with our confirmed booking voucher only to be told by reception they had no record of our booking and dont use Agoda, (despite the hotel with record of bookings on the Agoda site) They informed us there was another Jodipati Hotel and told us we were booked there. As unlikely as it was considering the address and the photos were the very Hotel we were in, they obviously werent going to honour the booking so we let them take us to the 'other Jodipati Hotel' that was called the "OYO Hotel" I looked up the OYO Hotel on Agoda to find it was in fact a considerabley cheaper rate than the Jodipati so we were overcharged as well. There are many hotels in Bengkulu, and many that are not worthy of any star at all…
I grew up in bengkulu before I moved to jakarta and live in Hamburg, Germany. To remind my childhood time I visited this city again and found this nice hotel and very friendly staff. High recommendation hotel in Bengkulu Xoxo andysuryandi (instagram)
It looks like 2 shop house combination to be one ( 10 meters width ), 3 floors are designed to be 30 rooms to hire. It is closed to Putra Rafflesia bus stop or at main rood Jalan Sutoyoso. if you travel by Putra Rafflesia bus from other province in Sumatera to Bengkulu it will be easy to get. Clean floor, shower, air con. Fare is moderate R 200.000,- per night. Around hotel it lies many small food stall like pempek Palembang, Sate- satai - Rice. It quite hard to communicate in english with information desk employees. The owner is Mr Bimo who is a building consultant.
This hotel is good for budgeted traveler, small, clean and easy to find restaurant. i stayed here only for one night. Breakfast is so so but the hotel staff is helpful. i rented a car from the hotel and the driver (pak maeng) is very nice and helpful.
Well as soon as I saw the hotel coming with the transport I was amazed, more than an hotel it looks like a house. Just seeing the facade you won't expect any good. It has two floors without elevator and despite previous thoughts the room is small but not to bad. You have a sofa a small tv, chair and a queen size bed. The worst part of all is that one of the two Windows has no blinds so expect to wake up quite early if the sun affects your sleep. The bathroom is quite small with a shower. They'll provide you with toothbrush and shower cap as guest amenities. The ones for eating are tea and sugar plus a small bowl of 'mini bar' products. The hotel is 20 minutes drive from the airport, located in the middle of nowhere and it doesn't have room service so bring your own food or choose to eat some worst class instant noodles from the 'mini-bar'. They provide you a kettle...…
