Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

After a couple of enjoyable visits to this very expensive chic beach front restaurant, I returned with a group of friends. The restaurant is very popular and very busy, so sadly they resort to pre-cooking some dishes rather serving freshly cooked. However, what really disappointed me was that on this occasion when we ordered linguine with clams, the dishes were sparsely served with only 6-8 clams on each plate, but even worse the majority of them were not open (i.e. not cooked long enough). When we complained to the matriarch, rather than sending the dishes back to the kitchen, she claimed ''the clams closed when cheese was spread on dish'', and asked if we required a waiter to help open the clams!!! I have never heard anything so ridiculous in all my life, if the clams were cooked they would be dead... how is a dead clam going to close again... and just as bad, what were they doing (if indeed they did) sprinkling cheese on the dish in the first place. The whole episode was like something out of Fawlty Towers, and in an establishment like this quite frankly unforgivable.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel. I had high expectations after looking at the pictures on the website but i found it all a little underwhelming. The rooms are VERY basic, beds small, bathrooms old fashioned. Air conditioning does work well though which was a plus.
The atmosphere during the day was great, busy, buzzing, fun, but in the evening my god is it flat. Place is almost empty and no music is played, when we asked a waiter if they had music she looked at my friend as if she had asked her to commit murder. You are also slightly stuck, unless you have a boat of your own. No real nightlife within reach. This would not be a problem if it was positioned as a couples retreat with sumptuous rooms, but the rooms are not nice enough or comfortable enough to want to stay in them, so ends up being a bit of a let down...
I second the comments about staff being slightly aloof and acting as if they are doing you a favour serving you, in addition to agreeing that food seems slightly precooked, comes out within minutes of ordering.
The beach is cramped and you are packed in like sardines. I would not return.

Food is nice and great location but it's the kind of place where money talks and the staff have become as obnoxious as the new influx of customers. Our shamelessly over inflated bill was corrected with little apology. Shame cos it used to be very special.

This restaurant is hugely overpriced and the staf is rude!! Okay, The food is good, although definitely NOT the best we ate in Sorrento / Amalfi coast, but is was definitely the most expensive one. Coperto only is already 8 euros pp, and then you did not yet eat anything.
When the ober comes with the bill and ASKED HERSELF for a tip, which is definitely not common in Italy, we said to round the amount, which gave her a 4 euro tip. Then she reacted “only 4 euros?” With a very arrogant face. We gave her 10 euros extra in the end. When leaving this place, we saw them looking at us and clearly gossiping… this is NOT a feel good place, unless you have a million dollar yacht or are a celebrity.

Arrogant owner the younger dude which in Italy they would call "RICH CHIATTILLO"
but the rich in Italy the real ones are the families that have a noble title. If you do not spend more then 100 euros in this beach you are looked at poor and not to be served as they would serve a rich guy. The boats go back and forth and are very close to where people swim the water is clean but at a certain point you can see spots of gasoline floating, shame on you and your staff for being so arrogant, learn some manners

Stopped for lunch whilst on a boat trip down the coast, the parking lot has some nice boats in it and pick up and drop back to your boat from the restaurant makes it a nice experience in and of itself.
The food is fabulous and the staff attentive and friendly, a lovely dinner with the family with great food, views and people. A must if youre on the water.

Recently on a trip to Sorrento we had booked the beach club & restaurant here and were very looking forward to it!

Unfortunately the weather turned bad the last days of our trip but still decided to go to La Conca. We were prepared that maybe it won’t be the full experience due to the weather but the staff & owners did all they could to make sure we still had a great time!

The food was delicious, and we even got a sgroppino performance. Everyone was up dancing and the atmosphere was great despite not being on the beach in the sun!

Would 100% return & recommend. Yes it may not be the most budget friendly but definitely an experience!

We suggest you approach by boat, it is getting rather trendy now which is a shame - lots of glamourous outfits and bigger yachts than previously as with most of this beautiful coast! Food and service fantastic, fun, busy lots of seafood. Calamari is gorgeous and fresh lobsters available from tanks. An absolute gem.

We stopped here for a quick lunch while taking a private boat tour. I had the spaghetti and clams while my girlfriend had the gnocci. Both were delicious. The service was professional and accommodating. The view was beautiful. I'd certainly come back for lunch or dinner.

Salve, se è possibile vorrei sapere quanto costa la discesa in spiaggia + lettino. Grazie mille!
Answer from Francesco C
Sorrento, Italy14 contributions11 helpful votes
