My husband and I returned to rarotonga, for a part work and part vacation visit, of over three weeks, and stayed with mata and kathy, again, at vaikoi, in one of their bungalows. We can't say enough about this place- peace and quiet with one of the best swimming and snorkeling beaches on the island a 2 minute walk down...

We stayed here in the 3 bedroom bungalow for 10 nights in July 2011 and had THE most relaxing holiday. The extra space you have available when staying in a house as opposed to a hotel is what makes the difference when travelling with children(11 and 8). We could take food into the countruy from home and topping up with...

I don't want to say too much for fear we won't be able to get a booking again. Three of us adults travelled from Vancouver, BC. We stayed two nights in one of the one bedroom bungalows until the three bedroom bungalow was available. All accommodation was clean and modern with the bonus of a washing machine and outside clothes...

We stayed one of the two 1 bedroom bungalows at Vaikoi about a 1 minute walk to the nicest beach in Raro! Mata was waiting for us on our arrival. We loved our stay at Vaikoi. Both Kathy and Mata were such great hosts. We hired a scooter for $20 a day from Budget Rentals which was a 5 minute...

Vaikoi is absolutely AMAZING!! Not only is the location wonderful - just a 2 minute walk from a gorgeous beach (think white sand, crystal clear water and palm trees – just like a postcard!) but the welcome and level of hospitality we were shown by the hosts Kathy and Mata was exceptional. The bungalow we hired for a long weekend...

I agree Naz, it was a fantastic place to stay - clean and tidy and very accommodating. Mata and Kathy are terrific hosts and they really add to the specialness of your holiday. For a great place to stay and enjoy Rarotonga you must try Vaikoi.

We have just returned from Rarotonga, where we we for my daughters wedding. We stayed at Vaikoi, and it was fantastic. We rented a one bedroom cottage, and my cousin and her husband, rented the other one bedroom cottage. When we first arrived, Mata was there to greet us. The cottage was spotlessly clean and tidy. There is a kitchen/lounge,...

“any of mata's two small or one large bungalows, on vaikoi property, are wonderful- depends on the size of your group- the two small bungalows are only for 1 or 2 people, but the large house has several bedrooms. all are in a garden setting, and spaced far enough apart to provide privacy and quiet evenings.”
