This was our first visit to Tanjung Benoa (been to Bali 5 times) and we were celebrating our 30th anniversar (we have two teenager boys). The room they gave us was room # 10 and was one of the two penthouse rooms. The room had two bathrooms (the main bedroom was very big) a massive balcony, private spa for three people, full kitchen and massive living area. The room was one half of the whole top floor.

The view is to die for especially when all the water sports are running and at night.

We WANT TO SINCERELY THANK the staff that made the stay so wonderful; the trouble they went to, to ensure we were happy, the room was all ok each day and the friendliness and smiles were amazing.

Staff like that in the SEGARA is rare in that their friendliness, professionalism and can do manner is not often to be found albeit in Bali you do find a friendliness that often puts our own country to a little shame (I make this comment as I work in human resources).

The Segara we do highly recommend as there are also great Wyangs within 5 minutes of walking and very good restaurants within 10 minutes.

The water sports are also (if you want to negotiate far better prices) just a walk along the beach for 15 minutes and you can get prices far, far cheaper than those at the upper end of the peninsular and bay.

We will be back.

Our accommodation was arranged for us so were a little unsure of what to expect as there are mixed reviews on the internet.
We were very happy with the accommodation, location and staff. The apartment was very spacious, the beds comfortable, showers hot and airconditioning very welcome. The staff were welcoming and went out of their way to ask constantly if things were ok with our room. We would return to our room each evening to find the lights and airconditioning on and our beds turned back. Breakfast was included in our package and was served in our room each morning at our nominated time.

My family and I have just spend 10 nights in a 3 bedroom condo and we found all aspects of this hotel outstanding the staff the room and the location were all excellent, I have stayed at the nusa dua beach hotel and also the grand mirage resort at nusa dua and I found the Segara Condotel better than both of these 5 star property's I would recommend The segara to anybody Singles doubles or family's or groups, and only a short drive down the road are plenty fantastic restaurants thank you we will be back..

We bought a SCOOPON deal to stay here and was very disappointed. The hotel is very tired and run down and needs a major overhaul. The walls are dirty and badly need painting, the sheets and towels have holes and stains, the taps, curtain fixtures etc are loose, the shower head had to be fixed by my husband before use, the cushions on the couch were stained etc. The pool was small and uninviting and the beach outside the gate is packed with busy, noisy watersports all day- you have to walk at least 15 minutes if you want to swim. The "" inclusions" for our package were not worth the money we paid. Dinner and lunch each time consists of 3 choices- rice, noodles or sandwiches. The massages were done by pleasant women that came to the room and half heartedly massaged us whilst chatting together the whole time. Breakfast was OK but the order was never quite what we ordered- something was always missing. Sleep quality was poor as the mattresses were hard and dogs barked all night, planes are very close, and doors bang loudly from other rooms. We paid $250 US for an upgrade to 3 bedrooms ocean view but it was not worth it. We gave the hotel our feedback, but no offer of compensation was offered. The situation of the hotel is at the end of everything- very few eating places etc are near the hotel. We chose to taxi to the Kuta/Nusa Dua area almost every day of our stay. The staff were quite friendly but the place is not worth the money- stay else where.

We stayed there for 5 nights, my daughter became ill with Dengue Fever and was admitted to hospital on the 4th day of the stay. While she was sick in the apartment where I looked after her, we were robbed by the cleaning staff and lost 800,000 RP, I sat in the living room and could see into the bedroom and had forgotten that my bag was in there, but the cleaning staff were so naughty and stoled while we were there, the front desk could not do anything about it. So too bad for us.
Otherwise the place was quiet and large. The cleaning not so good, dirty floors and there was much hair in the bathroom from the previous tenants.
The view was good, but there were not many places to eat nearby.
Fully equipped kitchen so we were able to make food.
Will definitely not return here.

We just visited Segata Suites on Scoopon Deals with friends.
The staff bent over backwards to please, nothing was to much trouble.
The breakfast was really good you can order it all. We had the free dinners for lunch instead as it was more of a entree for us.
The bed was very comfortable, the rooms are spacious, we had the front side one, it can be noisy in the mornings with bus traffic coming to the water sports,we got used to it.
I wouldn't expect to be swimming in the beach how ever, it is full of people during the day doing water sports, at night it is less busy but oil slicks.
We loved the position, no haggling,no real shops, lots of nice resturants, including coconuts free pick up from Segara, Raddision resturant called Tho was amazing.
If your looking for R@R at a affordable price this is for you, lots of good massage near by for $5 hr. Home Spa was excellent, facial $16 can recommend.
Free travel to Bali Collection a big shopping mall in Nusa Dua (next door)
Free bus to Hardies department store.
For the price we paid I would return.

We purchased an accommodation voucher for The Segara Suites through Scoopon. The deal was fantastic, it was roughly $800 for 8 nights for 4 people. So cheap! We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor which opened onto an outdoor spa and the pool area. Rooms were massive, plenty of room for 4 people to comfortably lounge around. 2 huge bathrooms, each with seperate bath and shower. Kitchen had a large fridge, stove top, oven, toaster and coffee machine.
For the first few days we were pretty much the only people using the pool, which made it feel like we had our own private villa! Pool was lovely, but due to its small size, got quite warm in the afternoon sun. Beach was just out the back gate, with plenty of water sport activities available. It was nice to be able to walk along the beach in the evening.
There was some confusion as to what was included in our package we purchased amongst the staff. We ended up only getting 2 free dinners (package said 3) and the 2 massages included 1 x 1 hour fully body Balinese massage and 1 x half hour foot massage.
Breakfast was included. Ordered the night before and delivered to your room the next morning. Small selection and average tasting, but was convenient and the staff always delivered with a smile.
Location was a little tricky, not really close to anything but the Watersports. Most annoyingly, it was about a half hour walk away from the nearest currency exchange. Not much to do in the evenings, but that is Nusa Dua for you. Half an hour by taxi to Kuta, 50mins in a taxi to Seminyak. Make the most of the free pick up and drop off that many of the Nusa Dua restaurants offer.
Great place if you are looking for somewhere quiet (great for families with small kids) or if you are on a tight budget.

ok our first stay in bali over a up and coming 6 weeks in paradise , its definatly out of the way , theres not much around , sure theres a few restaraunts but not many and theres not any foot paths so walking is dificult even more so with children .youll need a car or dfiver to get around .its a good looking hotel nice reception , we had downstairs room which was really big with two bedrooms huge lounge and kitchrn dining table n lounge suite , really good value there . we were served breakfeast every morning in our room which was great attentive staff too. the pool was good except a bit sharp on the stairs and around the edges, lovely temprature water and well maintained. now here is the problem RATS every where scurring around the pool and our balcony and. amongst all the surrounding vegetation a big yuk there , secondly the beach is fight there at your poolside gate which is great except for the fact you can not swim on this stretch of beach becuse of all the boating activety, there are literally 100s of various water crafts taking all the bus loads of. tourists water skiing, banana boating , parasailing , jet skking scuba diving its the mecca for water adventure enthusiasts but not us we just wanted tio swim which we couldnt, the other problem was the noise factor of all these boats all day long , it like being at daytona 500 car racing , the other problem with this was the smell of petrol in the air from all the boats refulling all day and the visible smoke being emitted it was unescapable. all in all better off at kuta lagoon pool and villas in kuta which was our next hotel

Dear Balilover2melbourne, Thank you very much for your comment and giving a compliment to our product and service.. In regards to your comment about water sport activities... YES tanjung benoa is the heaven for the one who likes water sport activities, as here are the center of these activities in Bali. However as the opposite, in the evening time ( after sunset ) all of the area will be totally switched to a quite and romantic place, so even clients that don't really enjoy beach activities they don't really complaints on the location normally. In regards to Rats, it is quite surprisingly that you see many of them, while we have maintenance contract with one reputable pest handling company.... We will take a very serious look on this and put even more push to the partner company and all of our staff to monitor. At the same time , we will encourage our neighbor property also to concern on this as I agree with you some of them not really concern at the moment. Thank you again for your comment and looking forward to welcoming you back to The Segara Condotel. Regards Homms Management

We stayed at this Hotel last September for 14 nights. We did use our timeshare points and must say we were hesitant after reading some negative comments, to use our points we had no other choice at the time of our visit. If you go by timeshare Classic...the company, were wonderful.

Our concerns were short lived once we arrived. We were warmly greeted by the staff on duty. We had a one bedroom unit, it was large, comfortable and clean with full aircon. Our unit was on the side of the building but we still had a view, our veranda face the road but it wasn't noisy at all, ok you got the odd motor scooter wizzing past but that's Bali. We would sit and watch the locals enjoying their day to day activities and it was interseting. It is at the end of town.....and I mean the end! But it is only a 5 mins walk to Restaurants and Bars and very quiet. A five min walk to great restaurants such as Meads, Tao, Sakarla and many more. Remember when you stay at Segara you are part of 'village life' so it's not rowdy or unsafe, the school is up the road and when you walk around the side streets you are in suburbia but everyone is welcoming.

We were there during a festival, the temple is across the road so we had a couple of days of chanting! Through the day we were out but the first evening we thought 'oh, no' as the we thought it was going to go all night. On returning from dinner the staff wanted to move us to a back room for one night so were could be 'in peace' they were very sweet but the chanting ends at 10pm so we stayed in our room without regret.

The units have basic kitchen supplies but enough for holidays, the breafasts are the same menu each day but nice enough. We actaully got a taxi to Hardy's Market in Nusa Dua and did a bit of shopping, it was about $3 AUD ea way by taxi, a local super market and has everything you need including cheap alcohol. Anything we had left we gave to staff. The staff can do enough to help with anything you might need. The pool is small but ok, however there are restaurants up the road that have pools and if you buy a beer, coffee or water etc you can virtually stay there all day. Sakarla had just opened and it doesn't look the type of place you can just wander in to and use.....but you, we had the pool to ourselves more than once and the food is great. Dinner at Meads (Meads in Bali) google it, was wonderful, a little more costly than the average but worth it.

Kuta is about 20 mins by taxi (in peek hour) and cost about $13 AUD max but if you get a clear run you can get there for $7. Water activities are on the beach in front of Segara (no noise in rooms).

We sold our house while we were at Segara so there were contracts going backwards and forwards for several days, the staff were all FANTASTIC!! They helped us no end and we had full use of computers faxes and they even let us use the phones. They were as excited as we were :-). The day we left check out was a t 10am but we weren't to leave till around 9pm for a midnight flight. When breakfast arrived the Duty Manager came with it and told us when we were due to leave to please call him as he had arranged another room for us to store our bags etc. When he took us to the room he said to use it as our own, we could sleep and shower etc. How nice was he to do this for us. Anyway we store our gear, swam at Sakarla...and used their showers, had dinner at Meads and wander back to Segara to get our bags and meet our taxi.

If you don't want the nosie and crowds then try Segara if you want a hit Kuta for a night or a days shopping it' close enough. Laundry in a side street on your right walking to town...very cheap and good.

You will love Bali.......Enjoy!

The day we left

There is a bus that leaves up the road at the Raddison I think that takes you to Bali Collection- shopping centre- it goes every hour or so from memory. We found the Hotel to not be in a good area- not much around it- we had to walk for at least 20 minutes to find a restaurant. Taxis are fairly common though.

Hi Sally, I'm just another guest but TripAdvisor asked if I could help you so I can tell you what I know... I stayed in room 10 and the beds were king sized BUT they actually were 2 king singles pushed together with a king sized mattress on top. I can't tell you if they have the single mattresses to replace the king sized one with. I can tell you that they will happily supply you with portable beds if you and your friends are not comfortable sharing the bed. Regarding your friend arriving earlier than you, I found staff to be very accomodating. If they possibly can, I feel sure they will prepare the room and have it ready for your friends arrival. If there were other guests and the room isn't ready, they will give her a welcome drink and there is a shower and bathroom facilities by the pool - perhaps suggest that she pack her swimsuit in her hand luggage- staff will supply a towel. I know staff will ensure she is comfortable until the room is ready. I am sure that Thexcen and office staff will answer your email very soon and put your concerns at rest but from a fellow guest, be assured that the staff at the Segara Suites will make your stay, magic. This is the email address I use to contact them, just in case you are using a different one - ok TripAdvisor doesn't allow emails to be posted It begins with sales... If yours doesn't, respond here and we can work out a way to get you the correct email addy Hope I have helped Lisa
