Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The cabins were well fitted out, but still fairly basic but as good as you will get and very acceptable. The restaurant food was basic at best but the quality good and acceptable. The hotel has been renovated and overall very good and a good place to stay if heading for Cobbold Gorge and to look around Forsayth.

We stayed here for two nights on a Savannahlander tour, and it was really excellent. The rooms were really good, clean and well looked after. We ate two breakfasts, one at 6:00 am, and two dinners, all as buffets and the food was excellent with plenty for all. I'd go there again.

Unfortunately I was consigned to a pretty ordinary cabin (due to bookings?), however when I became quite unwell I couldn't have been in a better outback town. Chris(?) drove me to the medical centre (and picked me up) and I was attended to by a very competent, lovely lady who knew exactly what to do. ( I have COPD) I Can't speak highly enough of all the people I met in my short stay, thank you all for your compassionate, competent, caring and friendly support.

Best garlic prawns I hsve had this far from the coast, the staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was great. I would recommend a meal here any time. Little wonder this pub has won Best Outback Pub award many times.

This was a surprise. In a small town, down a dirt road and off the beaten track there is this friendly, clean, well run, comfortable pub. Need something after the shop shut? No problem, we can open up the shop. Gluten free? No problem, we can organise a feed. Lovely out door areas to eat or chat with fellow travellers. Really comfortable rooms - I slept so well. Highly recommended.

Goldfields Hotel and Finnigan's Rest was comfortable, the cabins were from the Sydney Olympics, clean and well set up. They were not flash and basic but fine for an overnight stay. The pub was served basic meals, but had been modernized and was best of the bunch. As good as it gets in Forsayth and recommended

When exploring the area, this hotel (and general store) offers everyone a great respite. Great food and coffee, a choice of seating and excellent service. Plus the little town has a great collection of art and history on the pub’s doorstep.

What a great little place Forsayth is when travelling on the Savannah Way in Etheridge Council. Goldfields Hotel and Finnigan's Rest is a pub/cafe/bar also offering overnight accommodation, general store, post office and fuel. Service was welcoming, food was good country tucker, and our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Finnigan's Rest has occasional live music under the mango tree. We were fortunate to enjoy that, along with the locals. Across the road is a well kept park with a surprise -- fantastic detailed carvings by local artist Roger Smith in some of the trees. A great 'Treasure hunt' for young and old.

Goldfields Hotel nice accommodation, had dinner at the pub, unfortunately I can't recommend the food there my chicken schnitzel was over done the salad was dead should not of been served at all chips were ok for $28 it was not worth it. Drinks were cold thank God nice spot to sit and relax though. Staff were friendly. Beautiful spot to take some photos around the railway lines
