Our 3 night stay at Quintal B and B with our charming hostess, Nadine, was wonderful. The location is perfect in the community of Joe Batt's Arm, close to the Fogo island Inn, Nicole's restaurant, Wind & Waves Studio and across from the harbour. Nadine is a wealth of information and she genuinely wants you to enjoy your stay and...

Wonderful home looking right at the harbor , close to all the fun you can have on Fogo....Nadine makes the whole experience work...she loves her place, her guests and her dog Seamus...being able to access the fridge and all her great baked goods just made it so comfortable...beds are very good and her local knowledge provides you with a better...

Fogo is such an interesting place to discover, and we were lucky to be here when the folk festival was on. Nadine is just as charming as others have said. She was happy to have us stay with our girls (aged 9 and 7) but we needed to rent two rooms, as there isn't enough space for extra childrens' beds....

Nadine, your host, couldn't be more hospitable. She is absolutely delightful. The heritage house, which is lovingly decorated with many vintage items, is located in the nicest part of Fogo Island with easy access to Tilting, Nicole's Café, Winds and Waves studio and, of course, The Inn.

Quintal House was an ideal place to stay on Fogo, close to the beautiful Irish village of Tilting, a short drive to Herring Cove Art Studio (our favorite gallery on the island) and right next to Nicole's Cafe, one of the best places to dine. Nadine was a very welcoming, hospitable host and her kitchen was extremely well-stocked and available...

We really enjoyed Nadine's home. It is filled with treasures and she made us feel so welcome. The availability of the kitchen with all of its delicious treats were welcome. Fogo Island is a treasure from Des and Aen on the Ketanja - the Fogo Island Inn and its encouraging story about sustainability and social enterprise - to the icebergs!...

Room was nice and cosy. View on the harbour. The house was very nice and old. It was restored in a very nice way. We could use the complete house and make our own breakfast, make coffee/tea when we wanted to and there were muffins and cookies to eat. Nadine is a very good host and next door is a...

We stayed 2 nights on Fogo Island during the off-season. Our great experience at the Quintal house started before we even got there. Our host, Nadine, contacted us the morning of our commute there to inform us on the status of the Ferry. We thought this was very thoughtful. The B&B is a beautiful and charming 100+ year old house...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Quintal House is a beautifully restored historic community structure whose original construction dates back to the mid 1800’s. The traditional heritage character and simple elegance of the house is accented with antique and modern functional furnishings and local artisan and craft pieces. This 3-story Heritage Guest Home currently has 3 rooms available, all with serene harbour front views. The house has a warm, ageless and charming character, tastefully decorated with a mix of old world charm and new modern comforts. All rooms have comfortable beds and are equipped with private baths for guest convenience. Quintal House offers quiet, calm, peaceful surroundings in a private, relaxing setting that is family friendly with both indoor and outdoor activities for the young and the young at heart. Situated in the heart of this quaint, picturesque fishing community, Quintal House is located next to Nicole’s Cafe, featuring fine traditional dining and cuisine, Wall Works local artisan shop and Growlers homemade ice cream shop. The Guest House is also located within short walking distance to the local boat dock and boat tour operations, Brett House Museum, traditional foot trails, berry picking patches and other community attractions such as coastal walking trails and remote artisan studios. Within short driving distance to beautiful Sandy Cove Beach and the Registered Heritage Community/District of Tilting, an Irish heritage community offering interpretive museums and scenic hiking trails. Located within the Labrador current from the North, Fogo Island’s geography is responsible for the parade of ice floe and icebergs that make their way South in the spring and early summer months along the Island’s North East Coast, allowing great views of these massive icebergs in spring and early summer months. An occasional winter visit to the Island by the great polar bear from the North, as well as frequent encounters in any season with the local caribou herd can be expected. An array of wildlife, waterfowl, plant life and berries can also be found on the Island. Breathtaking ocean shorelines and spectacular sunsets and sunrises are the geography and art lessons to be experienced here. Go beach combing on our shoreline, pick some berries, enjoy some hiking, take a boat tour, but most importantly meet some of our friendly locals who have a knack for ‘spinning a yarn’ (having a chat). Enjoy high quality entertainment, as these same Island locals have a unique musical and theatrical gift that is showcased at many of the on-going music festivals and theatrical events hosted throughout the year. ... more   less
