A great welcome from hosts Ian and Anika and a lovely old room, number 3, on the first floor with a rear door and small patio area, ideal for entering after walks with the dog.. Comfy bed and nice bathroom with views over the river wye just across the road.

This is an absolute "must stay" when in Wales.
This historic home was once the rectory to two churches.
The building sits atop a hill, overlooking the Wye river and pastures.
Breathtaking views during the day with evening sunsets and misty mornings giving you a first-rate photo

This is what a B&B should be like. The location is spectacular (overlooking the River Wye, just along from Tintern Abbey), the welcome was delightful, the room was spacious and the breakfasts were great. Also our dog was made very welcome and there are some great walks a few pace

Nice old house but rooms (and particularly the bathroom) are very pokey and in need of a revamp. Fine if you are used to very tight spaces. Owners could benefit from giving the property a birthday tidy up in the off season.

Response from Anika-Ruby, Owner at Tintern Old Rectory B&B

Hi, I am sorry you felt this way. All Guest roomies are completely repainted every off season, and the wallpaper is changed every 2/3 years. We maintain the property as well as it is possible to, in a property over 200 years old. Being such an old property, changing bathroom sizes is extremely difficult as we are limited by the fabric of the building although the room you stayed in has the smallest bathroom in our property. Anyhow apart from that it seems by your scores that you still enjoyed your visit. That makes us happy.

Hi there, is it haunted .
We didn’t experience anything untoward when our family of 3 stayed in 2 connecting rooms. As it is a building about 230 years old, the fittings and fixtures are not modern or spick and span. However some people may like the charms of old world B&Bs
