Arrived with high hopes as this was our first visit. However having carried our bags into the hotel we were told to put them back in the car and drive back up to The Lodge. This was news to us. We stayed in "Kate" which is done out in bric-a-brac with auction room furniture. There is no choice for dinner,...

I have just returned from an all too short break to celebrate a birthday. I found the hotel absolutely charming with its perfect and stunning location, comfortable 'English country house' décor and very attentive service. The food surpassed my expectations and I will definitely be returning to sample a longer stay

We have been visiting this wonderful establishment for the past 10 years at a rate of 2-3 visits per year. We have been impressed with the quality and standard of the food and also by the welcome we received by the staff. Unfortunately this seems to have changed recently. We visited the Sharrow Bay today and when we declined to...

We stayed for 2 nights here on a Secret Escapes deal (am I allowed to say that?). The receptionist told us the hotel was fully booked for the Saturday night, which I imagine is unusual in February. Our room was absolutely fantastic, much more than we expected and had a magnificent view of the lake. There was a slight disappointment...

We enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch on the 15th February. Blessed with gorgeous weather, my girlfriend and I had a magical afternoon at the Sharrow Bay. From the moment of our arrival, the staff were courteous and attended to our every need ; the warmth of the lounge by the open fire, the delicious canapés set off our delicious lunch...

This hotel lifts the spirits !! The setting is magical as are the chintzy interiors which obviously stay true to the original legendary owners ethos . The food was wonderful and reception staff extremely welcoming and helpful !! What ever the occasion this place will not disappoint, Cant wait to return ,and the lake view rooms are definitely worth the...

Amazing views, great hospitality and the room was amazing with views straight out onto the lake! Couldn't recommended it enough! We stayed in the courtyard room which had views straight out to the lake and was tucked just behind the main building where it was nice and quiet. The breakfast was lovely and everything provided in the room and stay...

Over the years my wife and I have visited Sharrow Bay Hotel on many occasions. Inevitably taste is a very personal emotion (and a good thing too otherwise life would be be very one dimensional) but I have to confess that I have never been as bowled over by its charms as some clearly are. In its heyday it was...

Have been 3 New Year's Eves in a row, this year was most disappointing. Arrived dressed up as per dress code. Canapés served with a tiny paper napkin! Food was good, esp the desserts but the tables were fairly bare of dressing. Flew through the courses to finish by 9.45. No sense of anyone particular in charge. Stayed to dance...

I am lucky enough to be the third generation of my family to dine at Sharrow, with my grandparents, and subsequently my parents, having been good friends of Brian and Francis. While I may be too young to have enjoyed their company, my first visits to Sharrow were unmistakably of their ethos. Everything from the feeling of being welcomed back...
