Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We chose to have the Seniors deal at $22 for 2 courses. My husband chose the sausages and mash and I chose the pot pie which was a pepper steak. Both meals were very good and ample for a lunch menu. We finished off with the pavlova which was topped with cream and had a raspberry coulis on top. There was half a slice of strawberry on the side which didn't quite gel with the coulis but overall was an excellent dessert. The service was excellent and very friendly, this was a worthwhile stop.

Can’t fault it as a local pub experience. It’s a nice warm spacious bistro they have here. The meals were all great and very reasonably priced. They sell plenty of good local wines with minimal mark up too. The staff were all lovely people and very good at their jobs, especially Chloe who deserves a pay rise. The courtesy bus is a cracker too. We loved it. Highly recommended.

We were on our way to Baw Baw when the roads were closed due to bad weather, so we found ourselves staying the night at the Neerim South Hotel. This a good, standard pub with a bottle-o and a good quality restaurant. The rooms were warm, dry and clean - pretty much everything we could have asked for. If we are ever back in the area, I'd be happy to stay again.

Nice light and airy dining room with a pleasant view amd a cosy central wood heater. Prices on the main menu are not cheap, but some great value board meals including a $20.95 2 course Seniors special. We all chose the fish and chips and then three of us had apple and berry crumble and the 4th person had pavlova. Service was friendly and efficient. The fish was flake with a very light batter and the chips were nicely cooked. Salad was tasty too. An all around good experience.

Well worth a drive, this is a lovely dining experience. The views, genuinely friendly and helpful staff, and ‘home cooked’ meals. Fresh, delicious food cooked with love. Reasonable prices and generous servings.

We had a lovely lunch with friends today. Not just the normal pub grub. All the meals including the kid’s were absolutely great. We had the homemade gnocchi with chicken, spinach, creamy sauce and roasted walnuts which was a special and the tasting plate which had rice balls, tempura prawns and chicken satay skewers and our mate had the Thai beef salad. Everything was great. Great to see a small country pub doing great food.
