Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cosy wood fire warmth after rainy cold spring day's travel. Upstairs bedroom with gorgeous view. All facilities for cooking in good order. Fantastic area with insanely lush surroundings and great views.

This is a lovely cottage, spacious and has a bedroom in the mezzanine, décor is a little dated but goes with the cottage. There are only 2 cottages and they have beautiful gardens. The only thing missing was a hand towel as there were only 2 towels, another smaller one was needed to go near the sink. Staff were lovely and communicated well with instructions for registration. It is a great base for exploring the area. The local Hotel was a great place for dinner too.

Chestnut Cottage was just lovely. Quiet, relaxing and amazing views. We (husband, wife and teenage son) did a quick getaway before Christmas and there was nothing better than sitting on the verandas looking our over the paddocks of freshly cut hay. The Alpacas at the fence each morning add an extra touch. The beds were comfortable and the cottage appointed with everything we needed. We had the best parma's at the Toolshed in nearby Noojee, which also added to the experience. Well worth the visit.

Spent a week in June at the cottages with friends. What can I say...it was a great location, close to many sightseeing activities, had spectacular views, was extremely clean and had every kitchen item needed to cook with! Staff were welcoming and friendly and attended to every need, cottages were cosy and well set up with modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. A great place to stay if you want to go sight seeing through the victorian countryside or to just have a quite relaxing time in front of a fire with with a glass of wine. Thanks for the impeccable hospitality.

Lovely spot but lacked a few key items. Not quite value for money. Broken floor tile in bathroom. DVD player didn't work. Cosy fire and comfortable bedrooms. Table didn't seat 6. Close to town and many beautiful forest walks. Overall, we had a great weekend spending quality time with family and our dogs.

Hard to start this review, because usually I only have to think about good and positive words to write...... NOT THIS TIME! When we looked for accomodation we wanted to take our dog with us as we normally do so we needed something pet friendly. Let me tell you, this place is not that! If you arrive late in the middle of Autumn when you have not much light outside by around 6pm you need to consider that this place have no dog friendly paddock to quickly run your pets after a big journey. There is a huge road right outside the place with no lights, and although the traffic is not very frequent, still you need to consider that when walking your dog. The cottage. Where shall I start? Kitchen.....one word, DIRTY! The kettle was black and I mean black inside and when we took it to the owners/managers, there was no apologising. They just got us another one from a different cottage. I could not use a singe spoon or fork let alone cookware without re-washing them. The bathroom, surprisingly was the cleanest of all, however....... there is a great big jacuzzi inside, which you would think would be just perfect to use, when winter is round the corner. Think again..... the limited hot water will not fill it up!!!!! Then WHY IS IT THERE???????? The whole cottage had this what I could describe as "old" smell. The reason is that I wanted future visitors to know all of this is not because I enjoy writing bad reviews. I felt the need to say all this, because I have had over 10 years in the hospitality business working in all areas, bars, restaurant, pubs and hotels. For the price this place is asking, the quality is more than appalling. I felt cheated and ripped off. The bbq outside of our cottage was in such state, I would not have cooked anything on it for my dog. Just so sad that we chose to go there, as we don`t get too much time off from our work and we wanted and were looking forward spending a nice 4 days, instead we could not wait to get out. The only reason we stayed was having our dog with us, and we did not want to put her under more travel.

We stayed here with our two kids (8 and 5yo) as we were travelling to Mt Baw Baw. If we ever go again, we would probably stay somewhere closer as it still took us over an hour each way to get to Mt Baw Baw from here. The cottage itself was cosy, facilities such as washing machine/dryer/kitchen were fine, overall it was fairly clean, but we did have to ask for clean sheets for the pull out bed as it did not look like it had been changed (and we had to change it ourselves). Our cottage had a shared wall to the cottage next door, and you could hear the neighbours talking, we had to leave the TV on overnight to drown out any noise, and were conscious of our kids making noise first thing in the morning also. The grounds itself was lovely though, there are farm animals and the kids loved the owners' friendly dogs. It had nice scenery and it was certainly a quiet and peaceful area. It is a small town, so it is limited in terms of shops and restaurants - has a pub, bakery (that do everything from Chinese food to pizza), and a well stocked Foodworx.

My girlfriend booked a weekend away as a surprise for my birthday. Staying in The Chestnut Spa Cottage it was a cozy little space that had all you could ask for. A lovely fireplace to keep the cottage nice and toasty during the cold winter nights, it got really cold when we awoke though. The spa is nice and big but it was too cold in the bathroom it was of no real use to us. Overall the cottage was cozy, definitely not luxury lodging but you can't expect that. Some poor finishings on the plastering and the pillows/bed was not the best but very acceptable. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing escape from the city and would stay again.

My wife and I left for a country area that wasn't too far from the city to have a weekend away from the stresses at home. Using trip advisor, we discovered blerick country retreat and saw encouraging reviews. Our weekend away was fantastic, only just over an hour from our home in Hawthorn, we discovered a place of tranquility and relaxation. Not only were the staff very friendly and helpful, they recommended restaurants and points of interest. The area was gorgeous and we totally forgot about the stresses of work. There was initially no wood for the fire, but the staff happily helped and restocked the firewood once notified. Overall a fantastic getaway and strongly recommended for anyone looking for a weekend away.

Me and my girlfriend had an amazing weekend at Blerick Tree Farm. The comfortable cottage had everything we need. Clean and cozy, it gave us the opportunity to disconnect from the city and relax. Good attention from the owners who always took care of our needs. We recommend this place for a romantic experience or family trip.
