Visited with some friends for Sunday Roast and found a really smart, atmospheric pub manned by a very competent and efficient friendly staff. Excellent menu with some really great dishes on it at very reasonable prices. We settled for the roast which, when it arrived was a brilliant plateful. 3 big slices of meat, huge Yorkshire and a good portion...

The rooms have been recently refurbed and it shows in the bathroom which looks new. I am not keen on the magnolia colour scheme personally, but I guess it hides a multitude of sins. Only complaints would be the water pressure was pretty poor so it took an age to run the bath and the stairs up to the rooms...

I had lunch here with a friend and was very impressed with the choice of food on the menu. The food was equally as impressive! The pub itself is a little bit off the beaten track however definitely worth the drive! Strongly recommend.

Starter excellent: very tasty and full of flavour. Main: strangely different to starter. Okay in parts. Brother got a peppered chicken as part of a roast which was way too peppery (this was taken off the bill). I had a burger which had a very strong taste which I couldn't place. Upset stomach afterwards until the next day. Service: friendly...
