Our regular lunchtime stop when we are travelling between LGW and our home in West Cornwall. If you appreciate good food freshly prepared in the comfortable surroundings of a country house hotel, this is the place for you. Monkton is situated on the A30 just east of Honiton. The restaurant is beautifully appointed and, on a fine day, you can...

Just delightful. Jenny and Colin and other staff were so lovely and you felt like an old friend when you walked in. Lovely gardens, room was great, there was 3 of us so we had the only room that sleeps 3. They organised taxis for us too. Very clean, would highly recommend.

As we were traveling back from Lizard to Hove, it was was a convenient place to stop for lunch. Food quality was great. My husband had burger and I have ordered monkish tails with mango salsa and feta salad. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars, is simply due to incredibly tiny amount of fish I have...

We stopped at Monkton Court for lunch. To be honest it has not got kerb appeal but it's extremely close to the A30 so was a good stop off point. We had a warm welcome from a gentleman who showed us to our table. The food was alright nothing special and the smoked salmon sandwich was poor for the price...

We needed a room that suited three people, and layout-wise our room was perfect. A double bed in the main part of the bedroom and a separate side room with a single bed. The ensuite bathroom was off this side room which was only a minimal problem as far as disturbance to the person in the single room was concerned....

We booked this hotel for one night when visiting Devon for a memorial occasion. I stayed in a family room with my mother and sister and the hotel was very relaxed. Warning there is no lift, so not so good for those who are unable to manage the stairs. The food was excellent and there is a good selection of...

After breaking down on my scooter on my way to Exmouth I needed somewhere to stay overnight and August in Devon at about 8 in the evening rooms are like hens teeth. I was very lucky to find this room. Arrived at about 9 and was made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. Even though it was late...

I stayed there on business. Working locally. What a fab place. Really clean. All the staff were keen to help. All smiles. Nothing too much. There is a restaurant inside. If locals go there it good. And it was. The owners are always around. Friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was top class. I had the salmon and scrabbled eggs. Fab....

We stayed for four nights at the Monkton Court Hotel and were very impressed. Our room, overlooking the rear garden and fields beyond, was attractively furnished, the bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom, though small, was spotless. Although close to the A30 we were not disturbed by road noise. The public areas of the hotel are well planned,...

We stopped here for a quick lunch break and whilst we had driven past the place on many occasions had never sampled it. Well we were kicking ourselves for not stopping here before as the sandwiches we had were divine (roast beef and horseradish with fries and home made cole slaw) and very reasonably priced at £6.95. The granary bread...
