We stayed two nights when visiting Addo Elephant Park and had a wonderful time. Relaxing with great accommodation and food. The staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient. Wonder the chef produces some excellent meals, served by cheery young ladies. Thoroughly recommend a stay here when visiting Addo.

Probably the favorite of all the places stayed during 3 week trip to South Africa. Certainly the most relaxing. Grounds are tropical, guest house adorable, food prepared by a talented chef and staff. Hosts invested in making sure all was well. Timone, one of the Jack Russell terriers, walked with us to the river, just as advertised!!. Pumba, the older...

Our staying was perfect. The Chef is excellent and nice. Rooms are amazing (clean, big enough for a 3 kids family). You can trust Nandipha's advices for game drives! Addo Elephant National Park is not far from there but Schotia is worth the price.

We booked this as a little bit of luxury before a 2 night stop over in the national Park. We were welcomed and shown to our room, which had a huge bed in a modern building with a patio and outside seating. The room was spacious and included a fridge and sofa. We were offered a menu to eat in...

We spent two nights at this most beautiful place and enjoyed the calm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was very friendly. Our four year old daughter loved the pool and the two dogs. Food was also great (they offer a three course dinner menue). Addo is only a short 20 minute drive away. Would definateley stay again.

I very much enjoyed staying here - rooms & garden are beautiful and staff is friendly. Our own little garden in front of our room/house and the pool provided a very peaceful environment. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
COME AND RELAX IN OUR TRANQUIL ENVIRONMENT, WITH ONLY SOUNDS OF NATURE AT YOUR DOORSTEP... De Old Drift Guest Farm, a short distance from the little village of Addo in South Africa’s malaria-free Eastern Cape province and only 15min drive from the renowned Addo Elephant National Park, with its big Seven, and numerous other species. De Old Drift is a working citrus farm, one of the smallest but most peaceful farms in the area. Take a tour through the orchards and venture down to The Sundays river, only a short 2km away, where Njala, Kudu’s and Rooibok can be seen on the ridge of the mountain. Relax around the pool after a long day at the Elephant Park, or take a walk through the garden and orchards, when the trees are in blossom, the smell of citrus permeates the air. Enjoy our refreshing breakfast in our thatched roof lapa overlooking the garden and swimming pool area. Adventure, fun and games await children, where Pumba (Labrador), Timone (Jack Russel) and Mufasa (Bullmastiff) love to make new friends and play... a little paradise for all children. Your hosts Neels, Juanita and Steffi, will make sure that your stay will be one to remember. ... more   less

“The rooms are all different and apparently the rooms nearer reception have slightly better wifi although it is still erratic we were told by other guests. Some rooms are further away, but nice and quiet. The whole farm is very peaceful and we enjoyed it.”
