Orange Elephant Backpackers is a short 8km from the main gate of Addo Elephant National park. Our property is on a working citrus farm and borders the national park. On site is a restuarant with pub where you are likely to meet up with local farmers, game rangers, researchers. We have a variety of rooms - en suite doubles, doubles and twins with shared bathrooms, family rooms and camping. We are not a B&B but a backpackers/youth hostel

We stayed two nights and took the tour inthe park with their guide. The rooms are simple but good, are clean and the service is very good, you have barbacues (Braai) for cook and a kitchen. The breakfast is good and you there is a pub where you can drink a beer and eat pizza.

Orange Elephant Backpackers offer rooms and tours that are of exceptional value. Myself and my partner did the Addo/Cradock tour and had an amazing time. John picked us up from our hostel in Port Elizabeth and we drove to the backpackers also stopping to pick up food for dinner.

Hi Natalie I am truly sorry the 16 seater bus was late for the safari. When we have big groups, we use local businesses to outsource our transport and the bus was not cleaned to the business owners personal satisfaction. Bhut Ghete, the owner of the company did come and apologize to you folk in person about that. At R1350 per person for the whole day including a braai for lunch, all the entrance fees, guide and car, I don't think the price is really that high. We are on a farm and on the border of the National Park so WiFi and cell reception is never going to be a good as a city. I wish we could build a shield around the property...lol.... Isn't that why you come out to Nature? To get away from things like Wifi and Cell phones and go out and see the animals and hear the birds? As for the childish part!! I must apologize for wrapping your car in toilet paper because you parked in the flower bed. I did think that was quite funny, as did most of your travel companions. Please accept my apology for having a bit of harmless fun. BIG SMILE
