Good deal for the price. I paid 150 cord for single bed with public bathroom. Has a bit of a courtyard and hammock. Room was clean although no fitted sheet so that's a bit of a pain. No toilet paper in bathroom though... I agree with the other reviewers that the tour operator guy in the hotel is a scumbag....

Don't understand the negative stuff; this place is fine and great value! Rooms have comfy matresses, rocking chairs and hammocks to relax and there's fast wifi. Bathrooms could have some refresher, but they are spacious and everything works and for what you're paying, this is great value! There are cheap and cosy eating options on the square around the corner....

I do not understand the previous comments. I was advised two other places but I first went to this one for the other two were closed when i got to Altagracia (it was about 7:00 am). The room is great and quiet and I did not feel any second that they tried to rip me off. It is actually the...

Hotel was lovely. There are a few quiet places with hammocks to read and chill. Wonderful. Breakfast was basic but good as well. Willie, however, the guy the hotel partners with to book tours is an absolute liar and bully. He will say anything and everything to get you to book with him. DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM. Ask around...

Willie, the guy from the hotel that recruited us from the ferry from Granada is great! Not just some hustler looking for business. He organized our motorcycle rental and guide for the volcano hike (although in retrospect you dont need a guide) both for average or slightly lower than average price. Not much keeping this place from getting a higher...

Rooms are with private bathroom and only $15 for a double, but the bathrooms are in need of cleaning and redecoration. It's a quiet place and great to relax outside, they have a resataurant (but watch out for the tax/service charge!)

The "chico" on the ferry lied to me. When I said I was going to Hospedaje Ortiz, he told me that it was closed. This is a sleazy trick that is used by hotel touts the world over, and no one should fall for it, for forgive it. I had stayed previously twice at Hotel Castillo, in 2009 and 2012,...

A guy on the ferry offered us a good deal (12$ for a double room with private bath) It is a good starting point when getting to the island. They have drinks and serve food. The bath room was pretty. The noise level at night was very high due to a new bar that is facing the courtyard. We rented...

We also got there because of a guy on the boat. We had called and made a reservation for that night at hotel central. We told them we would get there with the midnight ferry from san carlos. They took my name and said everything was fine. We met other guys on the boat who where going to hotel castillo...
