Staying at the Pear Point Inn was the highlight of our trip to the San Juan Islands. We stayed in the larger Griffin Bay Suite, which was extremely clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed to cook, clean, and relax during our stay. Kathy, the owner, provided plenty of spotless towels, pillows, and comforters and even luxurious bathrobes to lounge around in after showering. Alot of effort went into stocking the room with essentials such as plates, cups, pots and pans, a cutting board, a coffee maker, cooking utensils and even thoughtful items like paper towels, dish detergent and sponges so you can clean up after yourselves if you decide to stay in and cook. Kathy provided wonderfully strong coffee and tea, and remembered to leave filters. We saw plenty of small wildlife right on the property, and even saw a mother deer and fawn resting on the lawn every day we stayed there. Kathy prepared a wonderful fruit bowl filled with seasonal, ripe fruits and a homemade zucchini bread to die for. The room has a TV, VCR, small stereo system and a DVD player for those who can't live without, but with a place like this, we preferred to do without. For anyone looking for nighttime entertainment or easy access to shopping or the ferry harbor, this is not the place for you. But if you want to enjoy the solitude and calm that we are often missing in our hectic "normal" lives, this place can't be beat. This is what the San Juan Islands is all about.…
