We used Lonesome Cove as our base for Kayaking different parts of the island. Lonesome Cove is on the Spieden Channel on san Juan Island. We saw a humpback whale several days in front of the resort and staked right off the shore. It is a very peaceful place that is clean and comfortable.

We stayed in cabin #1 for several days in late July/early August. The cabins look out over Lonesome Cove (you are literally 30 feet from the water). As northwest people know, it was the hottest summer with record temps. Cabin 1 doesn't have trees shading the deck, but they do have a patio umbrella (and they set up another one...

Stayed in cabin 3; had spectacular views of the water. There is so much wildlife around in the water. We saw all sorts of birds and some otters too. The sunset will blow you away! There is a shared firepit as well as a fireplace inside the cabin. We BBQ'ed 2 of the 3 nights we were there. Really great...

If you want to get away from it all, enjoy peace and tranquility in a beautiful serene spot, then Lonesome Cove is the place. We loved the location; on the beach with a beautiful view of Speiden island, seabirds, seals and sailboat traffic. The cabins are rustic, "real" log cabins, complete with fireplace, deck, and a cozy bedroom, and very...

We’ve been coming to Lonesome Cove Resort since 1995, and have just returned from another wonderful week in “our” cabin. I’ve reviewed the place before, but I can honestly say the place gets better and better! Kim and Karl, the on-site managers, seem more like old friends now than innkeepers, and their welcoming personalities are a big part of why...

We had a family vacation here with our adult children and had a fabulous stay. This place is wonderful if you are looking for a very peaceful and quiet location. The log cabins are cozy, with views out to Speiden Channel and Speiden Island across the way. We had cabin 5, which has 2 bedrooms, and was very comfortable for...

My family has been returning off an on to this extraordinary place for 27 years. I adore it. If fact, I adore it so much I don't necessarily want to rave as much as I will, however, do, because part of me really wants to keep this marvelous, magical place a secret. However, I'll share with you because I want...

Visited by boat and the Owner's were very accommodating and maintain a nice dock complete with fenders. No stuffiness here. the Owners Kim and Karl live right on the property and you'll feel like your visiting old friends rather than going to a resort. They went out of their way to tell us of places to visit. Cabins were rustic...

We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate our anniversary! The resort is everything you would think of in a secluded romantic island setting. The wine from the local winery is fantastic and goes very well with the view from the deck. The boathouse is a warm and comfortable home away from home. We loved having a fire in...
