The Royal Oak is a pleasant pub/hotel/inn the rooms are large clean and very nice to stay in, the staff are always on hand to help even the most trivial things, the food is varied and extremely good,

stayed for 2 nights on a short break with friends. Hotel was lovely felt very homely and cosy, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms were spacious with big comfy beds, and nice modern en- suites. The menu and food excellent.

We drove into Chester over two days and it never took less than 20 minutes each way, due to quite heavy traffic, especially at the Chester end. Also parking was expensive like most cities, around £15 per day. I would give the park & ride system a go, it is enroute from the hotel anyway.
