We stayed just one night - My wife our three boys (4, 6 & 8) in two rooms on the way back from South of France to Jersey and wow what a great place this is. The family managed hotel is so quaint and setting is beautiful. Personally designed by the family and it works so well. The rooms are...

This November, on our way back to France from Spain, we stayed for two nights with two other couples at des Francs Garcons, and loved it. The village is rustic and charming, and the hotel is a modern and comfortable re-invention of an old dwelling. Our hosts were very gracious and also helpful when one of our group needed medical...

Nothing to do with Saint Sauvant near Poitiers but between Saintes and Cognac in a delapidated ancient charming village with a wonderful church and enough empty houses for sale to give the Fresh Fields fantasists goose bumps and the hotel is just perfect;.great food and wine, hospitable hosts and tout le monde works.A wonderful base for exploring the Saintes,Cognac,Angoulemes corridor. We were...

On our way back from Portugal we visited this lovely hotel. The road to Saint Sauvant was already exciting. Entering the hotel the friendly staff helped us immediately with luggage providing us to sit back and relax after a long journey. Rooms quite spacious and clean, all with modern design decorated. We enjoyed a fine glass of local white wine...

We booked this hotel after seeing it in Alastair Sawday's book. It is an extremely interesting building in that the architects (one of whom was running the show during our stay) have packed a lot into 5 floors of a very narrow building, including a charming roof terrace with a small pool. It is located towards the top of this...

One of the friendliest hotels we have experienced. Comfort and design with a very good cuisine. Children were welcome, indeed. Do not miss this hotel when visiting Saintes and Cognac.

On a two night return trip from Murcia to Calais this was a special treat for night 2. This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in ( I have been fortunate to travel a lot over the last 30 years & this hotel is 'top draw!') Location wise - set in a very typical small French...

We booked here last minute en route to Bordeaux. It's the only hotel / restaurant in the town and we thought it was expensive for what you got. Our room was dark and pokey; the bathroom needed to be refurbished. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is plenty of free parking. The 'restaurant' (dinner...

This charming hotel, fit within an old stone house in the middle of a centuries old village is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Cognac region. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and the facility is completely unique. I would highly recommend the restaurant. The dishes were presented in the most interesting way and were all delicious....
